Women don't need men for security today. Women can carry guns. i seem to recall lots of women here also acknowledging this. i remember very few saying they got married so they had a protector, precisely because that's not so necessary anymore. i don't think even those that got married to someone they say makes them feel safe actually require that man to be a protector. Marriage provides no status to women. it offers status to both men and women. Women go through much of their young adult lives w…

it sounds like you're just upset that no one cares about the men who are eschewing marriage (who probably weren't marriageable in the first place).

😂
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/18 02:03 PM

Yes it. It's still a process of divorce. There's still a procedure to undo a marriage. It's a pain in the ass for everyone. Without that, someone can just up and leave one day.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/18 01:19 PM
1

But you can get all these benefits without marriage being a legally binding contract. ... you're definitely going to get yelled at for this. For you personally does the state have to be involved? Edit: like a commitment ceremony. yes. a commitment ceremony is nothing.

Maybe people are realizing that having a certain number of sexually frustrated young men is a potentially destabilizing factor. even if they do realize this, not any reasonable solutions to put in place, as far as i can tell (even after exhaustive discussions here).

you're adding in the "it might change" as an "eh, maybe" afterthought to make it more palatable to her and to avoid conflict, but if you're this concerned about it and/or you really think you'll want kids in the future, stop doing that and be honest with her (and yourself) about how important that is to you. there's no guarantee she'll change her mind, you can't force her, and this is something you really can't waste this sort of time on.

i don't see why it would be problematic; that's their personal preference. if both parties are on board and/or they can get what they're seeking, good for them. the only one that seems questionable is 1; his method(s) for taking charge are problematic if they harm one or both of them, and in the inverse, the woman doesn't say she wants charge taken over her (and i don't think that's what most women that say that mean either). while not 'problematic', i also don't think 3 presents two ideas that …

It’s weird to me how much women think you can just do nothing and have good things happen to you, I wish my life were like that in any way this piece of advice isn’t necessarily about you getting in a new relationship or having miracles fall into your lap, but preparing yourself to be ready to move on, have a new relationship with less risk of failure and disaster. you went through a fucked up relationship, so take some time alone/not dating seriously, if at all, to heal, readjust, and then try …

unexpected discovery from japan trip: their skin and haircare products are amazing. i've been using this moisturizer for a bit, and i like it a lot. i recently ordered this cleanser, and i'm excited to try it out (even though i hate the texture of oil). i used this shampoo and conditioner at one of the places i stayed, but it's a little expensive. i smelled this at a local store over the weekend and it was nice, and has good reviews, so i can't wait to get it once i run out of my current shampoo…

i don't think focusing on mental health or 'social structure' is a bad idea (not that our government/president gives even one fuck about that either). but, iirc, you can't even have certain eating utensils or writing implements in rehab or mental health facilities, for obvious reasons. so if 'they' believe that there should be a focus on identifying and treating mental health issues, and understand that disarming people who are a danger to themselves and others is a Good Plan ^TM , it follows th…

is this really spinning off the “tell us how terrible your man is” thread? because i don’t know how you could walk away from that thinking that “weakening the argument” is why women weren’t answering how that OP wanted them to.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/18 12:33 PM

you could just put a little effort in to read it and make your mind up for yourself instead of coming here to make insensitive remarks at someone who opened up and shared difficult stories.

ah, okay. it might help to add that in at the top, so people know why you're posting it (and maybe a TLDR of the conclusion you're presenting as a counter to that thread/experience to cap it off/because some people won't read it all).

hey OP, thanks so much for sharing. is it safe to assume that you're posting this to suggest that the tradcon family/life isn't ideal, or did you have a different goal in mind for this thread? i'm interested in seeing replies, but it's not quite clear what's meant to be discussed or answered so having that 'goal' clarified might help discussion.

i guess the pendulum is swinging back on those that were flipping out any time a white man was a villain or a woman was in a leading role or of any use whatsoever in a movie. maybe you didn't; plenty who would be upset about this Lando development are undoubtedly in the same camp.

I was looking forward to the movie, too you know, the movie isn't about Lando banging droids. you could forget about it entirely and probably enjoy it just as much because i doubt it'll have much bearing on the story at all. like dumbledore being gay. so what, BFD.

i guess it depends on how often they think about this or how strong the fantasy is, and if the actual exciting part for them is betraying someone else. i always thought it was more the secret/forbidden fruit part that people found exciting, not hurting their partner (though obviously that would be a result of actual cheating). i also don't think celebrity crushes or thinking the local barista or whoever is cute is a problem, though similarly, i see the problem if it goes to an extreme.

the general vibe when UMC is brought up here (particularly when RPers complain or criticize about it) is that UMC are a bunch of rich fancy pants snobs off in a bubble of affluence (which is why they don't know anything and should be dismissed outright). clearly, not quite.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/05/18 06:46 PM
1

true; that was fairly old. a look at wikipedia seems to say mostly the same about income and values, though i admit i didn't look at their sources for verification.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/05/18 06:28 PM
1

Really when they say umc, they man more UC yeah, based on conversations here and even the OP, it seems that way. made UMC seem like a way bigger deal than it is; i agree with those saying that it's probably quite a significant portion of reddit in general.

RP theories are correct for most of the population. RP advice works on most women. to cast the spell: light 10 candles in a dark room (one for each level of the HB scale) on a cloudless night of a full moon and chant it 12 times (once for each level of dread) and then shout BY CHAD'S NAME, TRP CONFIRMED and blow out the candles.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/05/18 03:20 PM
1

hm. can you provide examples? i can only think of a handful of people who are UMC here, i think (and it's pretty even among reds and blues). you don't have to be UMC to marry a good person, live in a decent neighborhood, not cheat/avoid cheating, not divorce/avoid divorcing, not be a single mom, not be a CC rider, not hit the wall at 30. quite a few people here are middle/working class and still manage to do well for themselves without being UMC-level.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/05/18 03:06 PM
1

no one says that. we say that the shaved, oiled up mega buff guys posing in underwear for gay men are gay (which just so happens to be what some TRPers here try to convince us is what women see as the ideal man).

Idk this is kind of a wishy washy assertion IMO, like saying the CEO of a company is not a leader, he's just being delegated all of those upper level decisions by the droves of workers below him who have the real power. yes, this is precisely my point, that many of the men who boast about or claim to be the ones in charge, the ones in a male-led relationship "look at me, look at me", are probably deluding themselves either a lot or a little, with the same kind of thinking. because: the leadershi…

i don't think people believe that of leadership in general. i am certain that most, if not all here know that leadership in general is defined differently. that is just the relationship model some TRPers and manospherians highly covet, strive for, or claim to have. if he's not the one calling the shots, then he's the woman's doormat (how dreadful). RPW also touched on this in the past, with some women taking the coddling/ego-stroking that supports this mindset to an extreme. so, for this discuss…

is one person making 80% of the decisions because they're the boss, or because those decisions are being delegated or assigned to them by the person making the other 20%? i think the concept of leadership in a couple is mostly pretty evenly distributed; men, here in particular, just like to think of themselves of being in charge when they talk about being in male-led relationships. i mean, some of them even compare themselves to kings. it's sad.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/05/18 08:55 PM
1

no, because that's not what's happening. on the occasion where he really wants to go to X place and says that, then sure, in that one instance you can say i'd be following his lead (if you so desperately need to) because he cares more about going to X place than i do. same is true if the roles are reversed. every now and then one of us craves a specific food or restaurant, so we go there.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/05/18 08:44 PM

doesn't sound like a male-led relationship to me, it sounds like exactly what i described, but we can just agree to disagree 🤷‍♀️
/r/PurplePillDebate16/05/18 08:41 PM
1

In almost any relationship I’ve been in, I have to plan all the cool shit we do, she might come up with some ideas but rarely will she run down all the details and make it happen so you do the work for her, and she reaps the benefits. I mean sure maybe you might say it’s “couple led” if you want to characterize like 30-70 or 20-80 as both of us doing the work. i wasn't talking about your individual relationship; my comment was in general. Anyway for me I don’t see it as being “in charge” as much…
/r/PurplePillDebate16/05/18 08:34 PM
1

what a rapid change of story. but in any case, still sounds to me that you're acting on their positive feedback and encouragement but choosing to see yourself as the leader because of the actions it involves, despite how minor of a thing this really is (and doesn't seem to be actual 'leading' anyway). agree to disagree 🤷‍♀️
/r/PurplePillDebate16/05/18 08:31 PM

so she said she wants you to do something, you do it, but you're the one in charge?

being put in their place subtly leading probably because these are two different things, and also, only the man who thinks he's doing the leading will interpret it that way to make himself feel Good and Special.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/05/18 08:11 PM
1

probably not that many. i'm sure most people would want a relationship where both are in charge of separate things, and both lead forward. i think this is likely pretty normal, though. i'm not convinced that all men who claim to be in male-led relationships actually are.

2-5, depending on which tactic we're talking about. Quality and low quality. yes. though it's more accurate to say there are high quality people and low quality people. quality women don't have whatever quality described as AWALT AWALT is always described as negative behavior that a low quality person would exhibit. At a primal level, women despise men who are prone to anxiety. Once it becomes known that they are dealing with an anxious men, they will do everything in their power to browbeat them, subjugate them and ensure that they stay riddled with anxiety. that's a weird thing to say. if they desire someone confident and lose attraction to the man with anxiety (going by what you've said, anyway), they're going to leave, not stay and do whatever you're claiming in the quote above.

interesting conversation, witty jokes/silly puns, nice snuggles, emotional support, mostly okay cooking, extra hands to help keep the house clean and running, extra money coming in and an excellent companion for adventures.

hm... it's not usually a part of these threads so i hadn't thought about it, but i think men and women alike specifically like some people for the characters they portray, which doesn't seem much less fictional... so sure! :)

the general mindset here seems to be that it's a successful marriage/family so long as it doesn't break up. i haven't bothered to research it myself, but interesting that studies contradict that. (not that i imagine even sharing studies proving it would mean much during arguments here.)

chiming in, as i recently removed comments similar to what he's referring to... as TGP pointed out below, there's a civil way of pointing out the things you described above without insinuating that they're stupid. which, is exactly what happened in the instance where that comment was removed. person A didn't like that person B disagreed with them, so instead of engaging with person B and actually talking it out, person A just kept responding with jabs at the person's reading comprehension, very …

there's much more to read and take away from my comment than just my silly joke about gynocentrism. i really hope you didn't just stop reading at the gif, and actually paid attention to everything else that was said. if not, guess that's on you.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/05/18 08:23 PM

It's more so the female moderators on here I just think women are inherently must be GYNOCENTRISM jokes aside, you're always welcome to ask why something is uncivil in modmail, if you're not sure (we don't do those discussions in threads because they're off-topic and can be lengthy for tangents). the civility thread isn't going anywhere, but there's always purge week or likely other debate subs where that rule is not enforced as much.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/05/18 08:09 PM

and if we allowed everyone to post threads like that we'd just be accused of being evil feminazis in disguise, sneakily trying to turn the place into TBP sooo a lot of our rules are shaped by complaints and feedback from the community. guess that puts us all in the same fuddy duddy boat.

don't be disingenuous. try changing it to "someone" or a simlarly neutral term/phrase and it will be reapproved. as it stands, your intent is still to insult another individual in this sub, and that is what is against the rules. if you've been here long enough to have a sense of how conversations go, you've definitely been here long enough to understand the rules you're expected to abide by.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/05/18 05:13 PM

don't call people out like that. if you disagree on a subject, feel free to do so, but don't throw in jabs at other sub members in the process. your comment will be reapproved this time if you edit that out.

we don't have any rules against linking to archives, and i can't think of any rule it even gets close to violating. i would once again advise keeping personal stories like this private if you do not want people to read or remember them (the opposite of why you claim you posted that one).
/r/PurplePillDebate08/05/18 02:06 PM

this doesn't seem like an honest question, and rather, an attempt to validate choices and seek pats on the back. your OP indicates that you already know what people think of fuck boys, whether or not something is wrong with them, whether or not the actions you've described are bad (and why), and whether or not it is really the guy's fault.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/05/18 01:57 PM

you definitely have the option to delete it from your history; i've deleted comments of my own that are several months old, and the linked comment isn't even one month old. given how willfully it was volunteered in discussion, linking to these details doesn't strike me as doxxing (and i honestly don't know how anyone could find out who you are just from that), but if it makes you uncomfortable, please delete it and avoid sharing details like that in the future.

/r/PurplePillDebate07/05/18 03:53 PM

i explained how the two things being compared are the same. either these men and women are volcels, or they're incels; their experiences are the same. if you choose to see only men as incels even though they're having the same experience as women you call volcels, that is a feelings-based decision because they are indeed the same, but you only acknowledge it as a problem for men. it's clear to me and i've made my point, so i'll leave this here. hopefully, you'll actually think about this, though…
/r/PurplePillDebate07/05/18 02:01 PM
3

The thing is you are only an incel if women i.e. in the normal SM won't fuck you. It is a term meant for men. It was never one meant for women. doesn't matter. if the definition fits, it fits. I don't care about either party. They can rot and die for all I care. She is just using the definition wrong. With enough magic anything can mean anything. she's not. your personal feelings might make you believe so... but she's not using it wrong.

it would be if people who complained about the rules here or wanted a 24/7 purge used it. i’d have to double check; there may still be some rules that get in the way of it being an outright purge where you can say anything to anyone, but it’s way more relaxed than here, in any case.

oh, enforcing in the thread is fine. i thought you meant enforced participation, which would be a nightmare to actually try enforcing.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/05/18 08:54 PM

OP: it’s been two hours, and you haven’t really been replying to people in your thread. if you don’t start engaging in your own CMV, we’ll have to take it down. there’s a three hour rule; you have one hour left to start participating in this thread. okay, removed.

1

I guess I'd also be happy with some sort of enforced flipping of POV threads. If you actually go to a debate society then you have to argue for opinions you don't hold and against opinions that you do. I think it would be good for posters to have to research and understand the other side more because it's painfully obvious that a lot of people don't really understand the reality of life for people of the other sex and that bloops (even a number of long time posters or mods/ex mods) don't underst…

limit extreme hyperbole. hyperbole has its uses, but some people here go so far out of the realm of reality that their comments don’t add anything but insanity to the discussion. you just can’t talk to someone who’s already that far out there (and some probably do it just to ruffle feathers; they don’t even believe the shit they spew).

it's not really countering that RPers don't want to pay for dates, or that they hate career women. the content of your comment isn't a problem, it's just suited for automod instead given the type of thread this is. responding to a CMV with a "yeah, so what?" is not challenging the views they expressed, it is agreeing with what they have asserted.

this has been flaired CMV; CMV rules now apply. top level comments must challenge the OP, and OP must engage with people responding to the thread within 3 hours. OP: it would help if you added some examples to support your claims that RPers hate professional women instead of just insisting so. if this turns into nothing but an opinion-based RP-bashing thread it will be removed. even just a few site or blog links/reddit comments/threads would do.

i don't know who keeps reporting various comments from BiggerD as personal attacks, but unless he's actually personally attacking someone, that does absolutely nothing and is a waste of your time. if you disagree with what he's saying and you've got a counter to it, use your words instead.

are your expectations the same at 2years vs at 3mos? yes. it's not just the length of the relationship, though; if i'm living with someone after 2 years but not after 3 months, then that's another reason some expectations will change or grow (because living together is a major relationship change). do only public declarations of commitment made in front of friends and family matter? not to me. are declarations of monogamy made between two people invalid unless publicly witnessed? not to me.

I would tell him that any relationship requires compromise and, since in your opinion he seems unwilling to compromise enough, that you believe that you need to find somebody who is more compatible with yourself relationship wise. the response that an unwilling dumpee will give to this is going to basically be, "i didn't know it was so bad! i'll change! i'll do what you want, i swear! i'll never upset you like this again, i'm sorry!" that is the out that the breakup you proposed would give the d…

surely, you can do better than that. (this isn't a civil manner of response, so please don't. it doesn't really contribute to discussion either.)

i don't think you're being cruel (and i wouldn't take that criticism too personally), but it is sort of a long time to drag it out. if you already know that's the conclusion you're headed to, i would do it now. i think the comment advocating the "we want/need to do different things" is probably the best way to go about it. i'd also advise making it as clean a break as possible.

oh, don't do that. you can disagree with someone, but please be nice and don't tell people what they do or don't know.

finally listened to the whole michelle wolf speech, and it was hilarious. sad to have such a humorless administration, especially since she did exactly what they hired her to do.

this has been reported multiple times, and hasn't been removed since it doesn't violate our rules. but, tone down the jokes etc.; it's borderline circlejerking and if it continues, those comments will be removed. also, please read our rules before posting again; this is the second time in as many days that a mod has had to step in on your comments.

well i've noticed that both men and women DO, as they should, so, cool?

i mean, both partners should be signaling or outright indicating happiness or unhappiness to each other, especially if it is the kind described above. as for the question in the subject, whoever wants to move forward in a certain direction should be the one to do that, man or woman.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
