Hi, the term in spanish is "varita" and it is a specific species of bush (Escoba dura, Sida rhombifolia) that produces a twig that is flexible and have a slash feel that is somewhat pronounced to the feel but does not harm. It is not a rod or a solid object. This is the main discipline tool, but sometimes people also use a belt here.

Hi, I am in a country where this is very traditional, the twig discipline is not seen as bad. The problem I think is doing using the twig not only for discipline and calm, but **reacting** out of stress and using the twig, which is really bad, which is exactly what is happening to me and I am asking for help.

Exactly, I know I am the problem, that is specified in the post. I need recommendations. Regarding using the twig I think it is very traditional here in my country Argentina, and is not related to violence, more to discipline, but the angrynes aspect of the parent when and if applying the discipline is the bad thing I heard.
