I say you need to address the elephant in the room as soon as you get the chance. That's 30 minutes you won't get back ever. Tell her next time (no matter whom she makes plans with) to just say she won't show up. It's much less offensive and more humane. Just put it in a way that doesn't make you a victim, do it quick, don't wait for explanations or excuses because you know she just flaked, and then carry on with your life. Seems to me like you're just having bad luck. I don't think the package is at all important. It better be limp or it will hurt to grind.
