I believe that movie is portraying the mid to late 1860's

This is supported by many studies that show that most of our male ancestors accounted for as little as 6% to as high as 18% of the male population. From some of the studies I've read it's closer to 40%.

I'm not sure how much good it would do you. I think the family courts would consider any pay outs to be considered communal assets and force the recipient to fork it over in the settlements or as a form of alimony/child support.

very simply: men are not important. They are not important in the family. The divorce rate proves that. They are not important in the workplace with offshoring and automation. They are not important in the military as the rise of automated weapon systems and robotics has vastly reduced the need for men on the battlefield. If you don't need a man in the home, you don't need him in the workplace, and you don't need him on the battlefield then he truly is unimportant in the eyes of the world.

It's a game theory analysis but they don't actually explain their findings

Warren Farrel actually has a couple of good lectures and interviews out there on YouTube. I know he was a former Feminist which in my mind gives a lot of his results more weight.

I think one aspect of this issue is how hard it is to even do the analysis. It's very hard to portray 25 interacting variables in the nightly news.

I think one of the most telling lines in this speech is the following: "The mistake I think we made in the last 30 years was assuming that people who have money have power. That people have money because of privilage. What I found is people had money because they made scarfices to get the power of pay." This was in video 5 at about the 1:25 second mark.

I have a legal question. What is the point of giving someone a suspended prison sentance?

I don't know about that. Blaming only feminism tends to degrade other factors that have hurt men such as the globalization of industry and the devaluing of education in the job market.

This might explain why women this age are out earning their male peers.

I'm actually offended by this result. I don't have a good way to explain why I'm offended I just am.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
