I agree with this! Especially living in Canada and due to covid and not being able to even go out to a bar or restaurant, it seems like OLD is the only way to meet people. When bars and restaurants are open I also have yet to be approached by anyone decent!

I kid you not I actually once asked a guy I was seeing the last time he had been tested and he said “idk, you?” And I said “a few months ago, I get tested before and after every partner”. And he said “wow, I guess you must sleep around a lot”. Nothing like being slut shamed for taking care of your health :)

When I was working at a spa I had an elderly client who used to say this phrase all the time! She was a badass; never married, no kids, had an extremely successful career and retired early with lots of money.

I was the victim of sextortion, currently going through court over being blackmailed with photos I took for a boyfriend when I was 17(none are fully nude, thankfully). So catch me never ever doing that again and warning everyone I know, not to. It’s a scary thing when you get a message from a random Instagram account at 3am demanding you send more photos/money or they’ll send your nudes to your workplace.

I had a guy cheat on me through the entire 8 months we were dating with his ex girlfriend, who only thought to tell me about it once he cut her off. I was extremely angry with her in the beginning but I realized she was also a victim, and he was a master manipulator. I agree in that women should never knowingly support someone cheating, however the blame is solely with the men in these situations. That being said, if I ever see someone’s boyfriend on tinder or anything like that, I will always s…

I can relate to this so much and am going through a similar thing, though we’ve only been dating a few weeks. He works a lot and told me from the beginning that he’s a bad texter(he’s also never really on his phone when we’re together). He makes plans and treats me well when I see him, but in between dates I hardly hear from him. I have an anxious attachment, and I’m currently putting in the work to become more secure however this type of communication(or lack of) is definitely a huge trigger fo…

I can’t add much that the other wonderful ladies here haven’t already covered but I just want you to know I can relate to what you’re feeling so much, I’ve been there as well (being cheated on, being blamed for a loss of libido, etc). I was actually in the exact same position exactly a year ago and I remember listening to a particular song(Don’t Start Now by Dua Lipa) and thinking “will I ever relate to this song? Will it ever get better? Will I ever stop hurting?” And I can truthfully say that …

Wow thank you so much! Lot of very good advice. I know it’s a fine line between being helpful and being taken advantage of, my boss has already expressed that I’m no ones personal assistant and I shouldn’t be treated like one so I have his support which I appreciate. And this is timely as one of the civil engineers we work with managed to find my profile on OLD and expressed interest in taking me out, but I do worry that it could cause issues at work as he does work closely with us. So I’m defin…

Yes! I’m a site admin on a construction site surrounded by men, I don’t have a degree and when I started I didn’t even have any construction experience so I feel like they look down on me even more. Plus I’m under 30 and considered conventionally attractive. The men at my company are respectful for the most part but the trade guys on site always walk in the office wanting to talk to the super when in fact I’m the one that knows everything that’s going on and can give them the answers they need. …

Had a boyfriend like this who, after we had settled in a relationship, was upset we were only having sex once a week or so and that I didn’t initiate enough(we didn’t live together, and my libido was non existent due to birth control- another sacrifice women make for men). Like the pickme I was, I tried to start initiating more and convincing myself to get into it, only to be told that it felt like I was trying too hard and it didn’t feel natural... no shit??

As for the first slide, this doesn’t even work and I wouldn’t recommend it. Every time I’ve dated in my social circle, they still haven’t hesitated to fuck around and then when I call them out on it/dump them, they talk badly about me to our mutual friends, creating a divide in the group(as the mutual friends will always try to remain “neutral”). There’s two guys I’ve dated in my social circle that I choose to no longer be present around(for my own peace), meaning I have to miss out on parties a…

That the vast majority of men will never “do the work”. Most will never go to therapy or deal with their traumas/attachment issues in order to be a healthy partner.

This happened to me!! When he found out he told all our mutual friends how upset he was that I went on this date and they were all like “well... you guys aren’t dating??”. I actually felt bad at the time, but you snooze you lose.

I’m in a similar situation, I just dumped a man I really liked who wasn’t meeting my standards, and lost my job the day after as well. So I can relate. But dumping an LVM (even if you thought he was HV) is an act of self love. Don’t doubt your decision. Take this time for you to focus on bettering yourself, take an online course, apply to some jobs, do some home workouts, learn how to cook a new dish, read a good book, treat yourself to a nice bottle of wine and a bubble bath! You got this girl!
