What's interesting is that the article still names the guy, but not the girl.

To be fair, she only said "diverse pool". So maybe, just maybe she is expressing concern that there aren't any female applicants.

Can you link to this study, as well as the post with the incorrect inference?

It is good if there is participation on this post, over there, but it is also okay if it gets deleted. Because then those who saw and participated, will become privy to the hypocrisy. Of course, my hope is that it stays, and people see and present different view points.

Does anyone have sources for what it is that he said, to have resulted in all this?

Yeah, as far as I can see, the language used in the Act is gender agnostic. Check out section 3: http://wcd.nic.in/sites/default/files/childprotection31072012.pdf

Here, it refers to sexual assault. The punishment of death penalty for sexual assault on children below 12 was introduced recently. It has been pretty controversial.

Next time, can you post the link properly, instead of a google something?

Maybe not, but that is the spirit in which it should be taken.

Hehe.. Well, I was going to "rage-unsub" when I was banned, but then thought I'd keep it, no matter the vitriol, if for nothing else but to have a peep-hole into the happenings on that side of the argument. They do have some nice discussions there too, as long as the topic does not call for arguments that are outside of the comfort-zone of the mods. The sad part of it is that it is primarily just the mods that are fascists. The people there are fine.

Yep! I too am banned, but am still subscribed.

Yep, it is... It only has FOSS apps, so there is a slightly higher degree of trust when you install them on your phone.

Do consider making the source "Free", and releasing this on F-Droid if you'd like more eyes on your code, and contributions from the community.

What's a professional boyfriend?

That really sums up everything: how on the one hand people treat it as an umbrella for everyone rallying under the banner of equality, while on the other, many treat it purely as a forum for women's issues. And funny thing is, feminists are scattered all over this spectrum with the two as extremes.

Ah, okay... if she was very young when it happened, then her word at this point may not even be relevant.

Exactly!! Why is no one else addressing this? That girl would have to have some absurd levels of susceptibility to manipulation and believing what she's told for her to believe everything. Or am I wrong?

There's nothing "magical" that being biologically related adds. If you grow-up together with someone who is a father-figure, they'll be your father; and likewise with any kind of otherwise biological relationship.

ex-fucking-actly :p It usually when one sees extreem views from the side that is supposed to be 'yours' that you take a step back and evaluate if that is the side you want to be on. That is the only way one can get through to many.

In WaPo's defence, it is their 'opinion' section. Not like they're endorsing this (I hope not), and we get to read what exactly it is that some people think about it. So all in all, it is nice that this was written, and nicer if people see all the shit that is the extreme feminist perspective.

Well, if the pie is a finite pie, somone earning more would mean somone else earning less, no?

To my mind, reciprocation is a form of consenting (of course when it isn't under duress).

That is an interesting thought... so is it rape if control of the 'doll' during 'sex' shifts into the hands of the hacker?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
