A home invasion would not be an appropriate time to fall apart. Those other scenarios? Perfectly fine; though with the affair - if you fell apart at that moment, I would imagine that would be indicative of a number of things you did before then for her to not want to remain faithful to you. The problem is that you can't "open up" about what's going on with you and then not have some plan of action to deal with it. You can't wallow in self-pity and expect her to still be attracted to you. Whining…

Understandable – I get that it's a shorthand. Where I think the massive breakdown occurs is this idea that all one has to do is model "alpha" behavior and some how that fixes everything. When what one really has to do is be real and be authentic. And that doesn't mean oversharing and laying everything you got out on the table and then asking someone else for their approval – that goes for other red pillers too.
