1	A real double standard? While i understand the point you are making, i think the term 'feminism' is perfectly fine as the feminist movement was initially started to free women from the patriarchy. Feminism IS and HAS been striving for equality, for both men and women,and whilst we are still very far from it, i think replacing the term 'feminism' with 'equalism' does (to a degree) discredit the work of feminism. 1	A real double standard? That is INSANELY idiotic and NOT feminism at all, these people clearly dont understand what feminism is and im genuinely sorry that you went through that. I feel like there is a huge misconception of what rape is, and its NOT exclusively men that are the perpetrators. I really wish people knew that feminism is women = men and not women > men. 0	A real double standard? Except women ARE laughed at. Throughout HISTORY women have been demonised for showing emotion through terms such as "female hysteria". The REASON it is so looked down upon is because it is seen as feminine. Femininity in itself is a joke to society. Women are NOT celebrated for showing emotion. They are called "dramatic" and "oversensitive". When we cry, men ask "is it that time of the month" as if emotions are exclusive to women. -2	A real double standard? Well that is because it IS internalised misogyny. Things such as crying are seen as "feminine" and therefore a man should avoid doing it BECAUSE it is a "girly thing to do". In society, men should be "strong" and "tough" whereas women should be "weak" and "obedient",these are all stereotypes. Crying is seen as weakness, hence why men "shouldnt" do it. -1	British schoolboys to be "taking a course about respecting women and girls" by september. Because girls arent the ones literally barking at boys they see on the street. Girls dont feel inclined to masturbate next to their male classmates. Girls realise that boys also deserve the same respect as them. Girls dont need classes about respect because they already HAVE it. Boys do not.
