1	Epic slap I think I get how youre reading it, so let me summarize how I see it, and what I think he was trying to say: Violence should not be the go-to response, but if it happens, how "fair" is that? 1	Epic slap Well then we are reading his comment differently. I'm not sure how you can see that as being his argument, though, if he specifically said "proportionate response". That implies different situations require different solutions, proportionate to the problem. That's not saying you should act the same way in every situation, by using the standard of a baby. He contrasted to extremes: retaliating to your physical equal and retaliating to someone obviously inferior If you would act differently in each extreme, then when you are in the middle ground the answer is not clear cut.
