I'm not saying to treat other people like shit. Just to be careful and to not pretend the person is automatically great. Be skeptical. There's no reason to think a black person would do something bad more than a white person. But they're both guys. Therefore they can be good guys and bad guys. They have to prove they're not the bad type. This is true regardless of race. Therefore assume bad but allow for them to work to good. Thinking someone is a monster and being staunch about it wouldn't allo…

Yes because we fear that they will be part of the bad men. They have to prove that they are good men. Until then I can't know if that man is good or not so I must assume the worst. But this goes for women too

That's not grounds for imprisonment though. Unless you live in the U.K. but at least here it's not

Yeah like slander or giving false testimony. But this isn't that therefore is protected by the first amendment

It's free speech so no we can't really do that

He didn't say feminism = left wing. He says left wing = feminism. The post above talks about people who are "left leaning". But here he doubles down on them being feminists. So no it's not a straw man he's equating the two

Plus as a book fan I find burning any book is sacrilegious regardless of religion

I don't actually condone burning any holy books. But the topic of the meme was burning holy books. So I figured I'd go with it

You're correct about the first part. Almost all feminists are left leaning. However (and this was my point from the beginning) left leaning does not equal feminist. Which is what you were doing. Equating being left leaning with being a feminist. Shilling for Islam is more of a left leaning thing though. Not feminist. There are a few bad apples but the reason people defend Islam isn't through a near worship of it. The reason is that Christianity is just way more mainstream in America. Most of the…

I know not all Christians are conservatives. That's why I specifically mentioned the ones that are. Also good thing I wasn't planning to burn your church or house down. Don't know what that part was about

It doesn't matter what other leftists think about Shoe on Head. The thing is that you're equating a vague category and putting them all into one smaller category that happens to be on the same side and saying "haha well this person who happens to not be in my false dichotomy is only not there because she 'has some sense' ". Again left leaning does not mean you're a feminist nor does it mean you're uphold Islam to a high standard. Mr. Atheist is as left leaning as you can get but he has spoken ou…

Hey let's be equal here. Burn both. Both are bs anyway. If a Bible is burned some crazed Christian conservatives will go insane and burning a Qur'an will result in some left leaning people to go insane. Just burn both. Or just don't burn books. Edit: to clarify, I don't actually condone burning any holy books. But the topic of the meme was burning holy books so I figured I'd go with it

Yes way. Islam is not a feminist issue. Left wing does not equal feminist. Shoe on Head is left wing but doesn't like Islam for instance and she doesn't like feminism either. It's a false dichotomy

In most fields they're not the minority they're either in surplus or reasonably equal to women and the ones where men are the minority are mostly jobs where women are expected to be the majority such as the make up industry and the ones where men are truly the minority there's usually a false presupposition of privelage a male has and therefore believe that they don't need more men though this is false if there's a lack of men who do better than women in a certain field then this still applies, …

Yep nowadays yeah which is why I don't align myself with the feminist movement

Also if I was a woman supremacist then why am I banned from the feminism sub reddit ?

Yes you can use the same argument for men when it applies. Language is flexible like that

Because there's a shortage of women in STEM fields so they're trying to get more women interested*
/r/AntiFeminists22/10/19 09:28 PM
1

Yes it would. Unless they're trying to get men because they have a surplus of women and shortage of men, and the few that are there are better than women. This isn't mental gymnastics. Call it a marketing strategy that's almost directly analogous
/r/AntiFeminists22/10/19 09:25 PM

There is a shortage of women and the few that are involved are better at this stuff than men statistically speaking it's not necessary by any means but it's not a slap in the face to anyone .-.-.-.-.-. And the amount of women in that group is relevant in order to understand why they did it. It's not disingenuous to try to appeal to more people and they're not doing this to advance space exploration or anything like that they're doing this for the sole purpose of trying to appeal and inspire a gr…

Appealing to women to make up for the shortage of women is not sexist it's called appealing to larger audiences

You're missing the point. They're trying to inspire women so that more women become interested which is why they seek a certain gender. If there's enough qualified women what's the issue why do men have to be the ones doing it because there's more? Obviously there's more qualified men than women because there's a shortage of women interested in STEM fields and space which is why they're trying to appeal to women. This isn't some super dangerous mission that needs a lot of manpower if there's eno…

Obviously they're going to take qualified women to do the work

What's the issue ? This is a good thing for women you can't just call it a mindless agenda if it's good, I'm all for that anti-feminism stuff but ofc you can't just say something that has to do with majority or all females a mindless agenda because you don't like it there has to be merit to it which this has.

The point is to inspire not to just feel good you're missing the point

I was explaining what people back then thought. You missed my reply where I said that those opinions are wrong. But it wasn't necessarily inferiority it was mostly a "I must protect you" thing if you think about it

Ofc I know that people were wrong and that women do not need so much sheltering and can be successful independently

No I personally would prefer to protect things that are valuable not things that can be easily replaced

You know we never thought women were inferior. We thought they were delicate and fragile and needed to be protected from anything remotely dangerous. Like a baby. This is not inferiority
/r/AntiFeminists27/09/19 08:17 PM
You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
