No it is free money. You are being payed by your employer everything extra is free money regardless if your employer does not pay you enough money. Tipping is not a law, it is not your right, it is a nice gesture that people do to you to tell you how your service was. The whole point of a tip is to tell you how your service was, it is never meant to be income I have not worked in the industry in a few years. I currently work in IT and the other day a customer offered me a bunch of left over food…

It is free money, your employer does not pay you the customer does which makes it FREE money to both you and the employer. It is free money. I have worked a couple jobs were tips were expected and I have been tipped all the time. I loved getting the money who wouldn't? That does not take away from the fact that it is free money. Every person who has a job does a service for someone else and yet only a select few are tipped
