I had a similar high conflict baby momma. It was brutal. My daughter is older now, and able to see who is who and what is what. My relationship with my daughter suffered greatly during her teen years. One parent was always on the offensive and I just did my best (not perfect but pretty good all things considered). Now that my daughter is older, and she gets to choose who she lives with, she stays with me. She trusts me implicitly because I did my best to be a good man and father and shield her f…

You need to stop making decisions, like right now, and I am not saying this lightly, I am looking out for you. Get a lawyer *yesterday* and stop making decisions, gray rock and lawyer up now. The more you say and do without proper legal guidance the more you will seriously fuck your life up. Dead serious. Pay attention... Lawyer. Up. Right now. Stop talking, right now. Only do and say what the lawyer tells you to. It might not seem like it but I promise, am trying to help you. You are burying yo…

I respect this. Hope you find some solace here OP. Sorry you’re going through it, it sucks.

This is a sub for divorced men. He asked a question to men who have gone through divorce. Why are you here lecturing him about what women want? This isn’t the place for it…

99.9% of judges will either not care one iota or even be bothered by the idea that you wasted their time with this. They are mostly there to get the numbers right.

I agree with the second sentence wholeheartedly. The first is debatable. Dude needs therapy either way tho for sure.

So you got a wife at home who loves you, doesn’t want to divorce, does everything around the house despite you not being all in, you got 3 kids, and you wanna leave a wife who keeps doing more and more for you cuz she loves you… for a coworker.. because you don’t feel seen? Bro. You’re gonna regret your decision either way now. And it will be your own fault for being selfish. Edit: get some freaking therapy. Couples and individual therapy. You need it.

Resentment is a relationship killer. Remember your vows, go to therapy, get couples counseling, and see if you can reignite the spark first. Personally, I’d feel really shallow and selfish for tearing apart my family cuz my wife aged. Don’t forget, you’re gonna be ugly one day too.

Do NOT move out. There’s a reason she is pushing you to do so. It’s extremely advantageous to her financially for you to already have a new place. Talk to a lawyer ASAP. Do not trust her from this point forward but do not get a paranoid and accusatory. Gray rock. You have all the leverage to come out of this in a more advantageous position, just dont do anything to screw it up, like leaving the house.

Do. Not. Leave. The. House. Assume every single moment of every day is now being literally video / audio recorded. Talk to your lawyer ASAP. Be cool. Be chill. Be a good dad. Do not take the bait she will throw at you. Gray rock at all times. This sucks and I’m so sorry for you, but she is now your opponent in a contentious divorce and will do and say whatever it takes to screw you over. Stand your ground but be as kind as you can muster. If you can’t muster kindness then muster indifference. If…

I’m really sorry bro. I’d consider speed running this divorce while she’s in the honeymoon phase of her new relationship. Much higher chance she’s amenable to amicable terms while she’s in the limerence phase. Less chance of it getting uglier, more chance you get to keep your stuff and get a reasonable co parenting plan and custody agreement in place. If her new relationship fails before you’re done, she may either try to get you back or take you for everything she can.

It’s hard man. It takes time. I suggest calling or texting 988 on your phone. It’s private and judgment free. They are the best equipped to help you right now. You can do this. You got this.

As a proponent of psychedelics for the potential mental health benefits, and also a guy who has been in your position, I just gotta chime in here. Using hallucinogens when you’re this low can be risky. While they’ve helped many, they are not a one size fits all solution. They can be downright dangerous for many people, particularly in a vulnerable time like now. Before exploring this option, call or text the suicide hotline at 988 on your phone. This number isn’t just for moments of crisis, and …

Bro, it sucks. It’s super hard. The tried and true advice is to build yourself back up. Hit the weights, move your career forward, get therapy, get into a routine of self improvement. Not because you’re not good enough but because you deserve better and you gotta set yourself up for a better future while you white knuckle through a shitty present. It’s really hard to not just hit the bottle and languish, trust me I did it and it made things harder in the long run. There’s no way around it, this …

I don't know Maryland law but it is improbable that text message is legally binding. This is likely something you need a family lawyer for.

Don’t fall for it. Get a lawyer. The courts will decide. You’re no longer loving partners. She’s your adversary in a deal that you will lose. How much you lose is up to the judge. You don’t have to be a dick to her but don’t be a sucker either. Get a lawyer ASAP.

You should post in a subreddit that is not dedicated specifically to men who are dealing with divorce. Also, you should use paragraphs.

I’m sorry you went through that. My ex MIL was similar, and they were best friends. I was objectively a great husband, doting, attentive, paid all the bills, she never didn’t have fresh flowers, no abuse no fights nothing. But walking in on her mother telling her daughter “he’s so beneath you, you can do so much better” and telling all her daughters friends the same should have tipped me off. My ex and I were happy but every time they spent time together my ex would be miserable after. Eventuall…

I’d be concerned to say the wrong thing. Grey rock is the safest bet. Her lawyers don’t care what she did they just wanna wrap up the case and get their money and move to the next one. Let your lawyers talk. Drag your feet, act disinterested, keep on that energy. It’s a very difficult time for us and maybe sometime we wanna vent or maybe even wanna exact revenge at times. It won’t work dude. Her lawyers are not emotionally invested, don’t bother trying to make them. If you want to go for the jug…

Just let the lawyers hash it out. They are not emotionally invested, they just want the money and the W. Sorry you’re going through this, but dont let her manipulate you into a bad deal.

And she gets to keep all the appreciation on your 30k? She's trying to play you. I would not attempt to work with her in good faith and let the lawyers hash out the details so she doesn't screw you. It's very clear she's going to do and say what she can to maximize her own gain at your expense, even if what she says and does is unethical / immoral.

I used to be a gym freak, the last year of my marriage and the year since has been so stressful I haven't been able to sleep and my motivation is near zero. Every single day one of my biggest stresses is that I am trying to motivate myself to get back in the gym cuz I know it helps my brain just as much as my body. It's been so hard, I wasn't able to get myself going. My friend however gave me this tidbit which helped get me there at least sometimes. Said a little is better than none. You don't …

Had a casual fling with an ex, but beside that, it's been a little over a year and I still don't think I'm ready yet. I don't wanna get clingy, and I'm still not myself yet. I'm over my ex, but not the betrayal. My life was pretty full and I am still adjusting to my new normal.

Saying fuck has no fucking bearing on why everyone here is saying the same thing. You’re lashing out at everyone who is trying to help. Your anger is poison, to yourself even moreso than to everyone else.

My dude, please get help. This anger and bitterness can and will destroy you. You’re Blinded by it right now but everyone else can see it plain as day.

You really should consider getting some therapy my dude. I’m not trying to be mean here I’m trying to help. Your anger isn’t exactly hard to spot here and everyone else is pointing out very obvious things to you and getting super toxic reactions. I get you’re mad. Divorce sucks.it’s infuriating when you spend so much time and effort on somebody who ends up not being worth it. But it looks like you’re headed down a dark path and you are one of the only ones who can’t see it. Take control of your …
