Let’s put it a different way: “I don’t date my secretary because I’ll fire her if she doesn’t reciprocate. I dated her because we get along well and have a great bond!” Is this wrong? Yes, because regardless of motives, the power dynamic still exists. The same is true to a lesser extent for age gaps.
