are you Australian?

That doesn't change the fact that being a decent person is just a baseline expectation. Given that people below that "baseline expectation" are getting laid - and apparently sometimes more than those who meet the baseline - I would say that the data contradicts you. Having your life in order and being decent is more than many (not most) men can accomplish, (especially in this economy). I mean, my aunt married a guy who is certainly below this "baseline expectation" despite having chances to more…

The reason I asked it this way is because it is really easy to argue against something that doesn't work. That's why religious arguments against contraception usually misrepresent effectiveness of contraceptive methods. Because it is damn hard to make argument "contraceptives work well when consistently used, but it is against our religion to use it anyway." Similarly, it is easier to argue that RedPill doesn't work than that it is immoral. Now, I don't think RedPill works all that well, but soo…

I agree, actually. I was just pointing out that I was interested more in a moral argument.

My issue with TRP is the blanket statements about women, such as asserting that all women are children, incapable of logic, etc. etc., while asserting that men are superior in x, y, and z ways, all supported by often baseless rationalizations that amount in a lot of circular logic. I would say this falls under "instrumental" argument. You are arguing that Red Pill doesn't work since it misrepresents women.

Rape is illegal, financial abuse is illegal, domestic violence is illegal, extortion is illegal, blackmail is illegal I don't think that main body of RedPill (to the extent that it even has any authority, anyway) supports any of these things. "Borderline Abusive" is more something like Dread Game. You keep yourself in shape during relationship to let your woman know you can leave at any time. The argument is that society doesn't penalize women for not keeping themselves in shape in a relationshi…

Your analogy doesn't work as murder is illegal. None of RedPill strategies (even those I hate) are against the law. Also, murder involves physical force and RedPill involves psychological force. Women can say no.

Red Pill can be basically defined as men deciding they don't owe women not to use manipulative (and sometimes borderline abusive) sexual strategy to get laid. Everyone seems shocked about it. I am not a RedPiller but I don't see why is everyone shocked.

And don't tell me that I'm being "sexist" just because I'm pointing this out. Anyone who has spent any time on planet Earth will clearly see that men and women are different, emotionally speaking. Ironically you are actually arguing that women and men are the same i.e. both are making equally irrational and emotion-based decisions when it comes to mating. It is certain feminists who claim that women are virtuous and men are shallow pigs who are really claiming that women and men are different.

Yeah that's mostly how I see the pills, too. But it is easy to see why some people are unable to figure out red pill on their own - we are introverts and introverts just aren't that good at reading people. Some of us might be idealists, too.

First of all, I am not a TRPer. Purple pill means that I agree with some aspects of red pill, not with most or all aspects. I think that the red pill, taken as a whole, is full of pseudoscience, sophistry and general douchebaggery. But they are also one of the few groups that are willing to say some things that need to be said, unfortunately. My point is that people seem to instinctively rush to defend women from demeaning low-status work, while few people would do that for males. If you tend to…

NSA sex with skanks Can you tell me what does NSA mean in this context?

And the literalism award goes to you, sir. Is someone forcing said woman into prostitution at gunpoint? Probably not. Is she choosing between starving and hooking? Probably. That's what most people mean when they say someone was 'forced' into something. Just because the threat isn't immediate (gun) doesn't mean it isn't there at all (starvation). I agree with you that prostitution could be "do this or starve" for some women, and I hate libertarian sleight of hand wherein they pretend that lack o…

I think one needs to have mixture of alpha and beta traits in life. Pure alpha is destructive, but only being beta is unattractive.

I think this is best answer here. What people don't understand is that red pill is certainly right about some people and in some contexts, and the same is true for blue pill.

Or to put it succinctly, AVA had human intelligence but no human character or personality.

Maybe the bigger problem with SMP is that women are bad at communicating what traits they find impressive in men. This I think is partially because women are often not consciously aware of their desire. For example, they might mislead men (and themselves) into thinking that they want decency and kindness but often end up with charismatic jerks. (sometimes even dealing with cognitive dissonance by labeling any actually kind and decent man they might find as "Nice Guy") So maybe it is not that wom…

Under that system everyone was able to get some because the decisions were essentially taken out of people's hands(arranged marriages, fathers selling their daughters, etc.). What makes you think that everyone was able to get some under the system of fathers selling their daughters? More likely, a few rich men would simply buy off all women under such system. As is happening now in the middle east, with most men being unable to even see a woman, so they go into terrorism so they can rape.

Is it possible that men also have unrealistic expectations of women? Due to impossibly attractive girls always being available in porn and the like?

But then the easiest way to get sex would be to buy a hooker. Something I am not opposed to per se, but what use is Red Pill then?

At least women are told the score. The whole problem is that women's desire is constantly mystified and deliberately obscured. It is common knowledge that many men are shallow and that they only want one thing. On the other hand, women are often depicted as divine, pure beings that are only attached to kind, caring compassionate men who are able to provide. So it is kind of a shock when a man finds out how little attraction has to do with pro-social traits. Scott Alexander pointed out: If you’re…

it refers to the way our society deals with rape, rapists, and victims legally, in the media, and in our beliefs. So how does our society deal with rape, really? As Rolling Stone incident has recently shown even utterly bogus and fantastical claim gets completely believed. "Jackie" had been telling the same made up story to everyone and their dog for years and no one ever called her on it, until basically the entire America got involved. Even now almost no one wants to call her a liar, instead c…

Heck, as recently as 1500 years ago, Geinghis Khan was genetically the most successful man in the world, and it wasn't by being "beta". Actually it's as recently as 800 years ago... which actually makes your point stronger.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
