It is, but if you're going into it expecting to spend that much money on an entire 5 course meal, that's not terrible. Especially if you're just doing it as a treat yourself or unique first time experience. I'm saying this as someone that could afford to try that as a unique experience, but I would also not be buying much for myself the rest of the paycheck. I understand not everyone has that kind of money for a one off lunch.

It may not be the exact same and never said it was. But if it was the choice between spreading his genes vs not at all, while still being married to his wife, it's a totally viable option.

Agreed that it's not fair. If the husband wanted kids so badly, they could have gotten (or tried since we don't really know the full story of it) a donor or something, where granted it may not have been her genes, at least he would have his genes moved on. And they could have both been parents and carried on.
