Old reference because I'm old but Empire Records dude AJ follows Liv Tyler's Corey to Boston because she's going to Harvard. Using the context of the hetero dating world I would agree. In the context of real poly people (thinking of sex educator Tristan Taormino) it is possible but those are people who have worked extensively on themselves, their relationships and communication with everyone.
