Move the fuck out of the Bay Area, you can easily make 300-500k as a SWE in a different city if you’re faang material and actually be comfortable instead of trying to hit mid 7 figures that might never happen in the Bay.

One mistake the RP’s make is vastly underestimating how much money an older guy needs to be able to impress younger women. They think if you make like 100-200k or have 1M banked you’ll be drowning in pussy. They’re at least an order of magnitude off and the level of wealth one needs for this isn’t achievable for the vast majority of men. Minimum these days is 7 figure income /8 figure NW to be able to live an impressive enough lifestyle to date young hotties as an old guy.

30 isn’t the wall for women, it’s more like 50-60 unless she becomes obese. An attractive 25 year old will still be attractive and can easily get men at 35 and 45, just slightly less so. Believe me I want this “hitting the wall at 30” narrative to be true but it’s simply not.

It’s impossible to deny the existence of Chads, anyone can make a catfish Tinder with pics of some random hot guy and see how many matches you get, it’s insane. I have also witnessed certain men having women approach them irl and tell him she’s down for a hookup. Average guys don’t even know the the shit that goes down with hot guys most of the time.

The numbers are a huge issue. 105 men born to 100 women. If 90 women get paired off this means you have 15 single men to 10 single women. This is before you factor the older men targeting younger women, the women getting pregnant and becoming single moms, the obese women, the ethnic breakdown (not PC but some races are more desired than others), and lots of other factors. Literally every city in the US has an excess of single men in the 18-40 demographic. The overall number of single desirable w…

Can’t relate, I’m white collar and make multiple 6 figs. But most women I know who are educated don’t want a guy who isn’t on their level academically or intellectually. Not that blue collar guys can’t be intelligent but it’s the perception.

The only difference is that men don’t really care if a woman is boring and doesn’t have her shit together as long as she’s hot and not a complete bitch/crazy (and even this can be overlooked). I see men with high paying jobs who are homeowners dating women living paycheck to paycheck with roommates and can’t afford a car (and in an area where you really need one). Men and women value different things and for men looks are always no. 1, with women looks are only no. 1 on OLD. This means men will …

It’s also much of a lottery, not just a function of how hard you work.

I definitely think OF is a bubble, there’s way too much free porn out there that it has to compete with. As soon as money gets tight for people they’ll stop paying for porn.

You think that women are choosing the guy for his title but they’re actually choosing him for his education. White collar men are seen as more educated and refined than blue collar men and a woman with a master’s degree has a hard time relating to the guy with a HS diploma, even if he makes more money.

People generally date within their own socioeconomic class. Blue collar men attract women of similar educational/economic background and white collar men are similar. It’s not really easy for a white collar man to date blue collar women since blue collar women often see those guys as less masculine, even if they have a bit more $ on average.

Agree with a lot of what you said. But do you really think women are equally as competitive amongst themselves as men are? A single high status man can impregnate 1000 women, why would one of these women need to compete with the others? Only in monogamous societies which don’t really exist in nature or did in early humanity. Men naturally need to compete because they’re more biologically disposable.

Nice. Is that 8k before or after tax? How did you deal with childcare in their early years?

Good careers/finances are rare these days for either gender as wealth inequality increases though. Instead we see the rise of gig economy jobs.

I agree with you, there is no level of poverty that is going to dissuade people from having kids, just look at the birth rates of third world countries. However these are very less than ideal conditions and often don’t lead to good outcomes.

I do agree that when kids aren’t a factor money isn’t that important/is completely irrelevant. I guess the question is how widespread of a phenomenon is it for modern women to never desire children at any point in their lives. I know plenty of men/women who said they don’t want kids but change their mind later. But there’s definitely a rise in folks who are happy being perpetually childless, I just don’t know the numbers.

True, but 70k with a father + SAHM is different than 70k as a single person while having to work and pay for daycare.

I definitely see beta bucks going away esp if the claims made by the comments here are true on a wide scale (that women would rather be single/childless than marry a rich beta). It’s more like Alphafux then… followed by more Alphafux.

I don’t think a woman would want to get with a guy who is terrible in every single way besides having money. I’m just surprised that an average looking man with a good career is increasingly passed over for the good looking guy with nothing else going for him.

It can definitely work out, people always find a way to survive. Most folks who plan for a family are aiming for stability and providing the best life possible for their kids. Stable home, stable marriage, being able to save for college, etc. Obviously it doesn’t always work out the way you plan.

Yeah that’s true, CS is a factor. I was envisioning the single mom by choice when writing this because I hear a lot of the “I don’t need a man” from the woman who consciously decides to have a kid on her own via a sperm donor

Are you okay with a guy who has had one night stands with 200 different women?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
