PicPick isn't a photo editor really, it's not supposed to have a bunch of filters. It more for quickly annotating and screen capturing. It's not as well rounded as Paint.NET, but that's one of its strengths (it's really good at what it does).

PicPick has bar-none the best screen capture and annotation tools (ok, maybe Snagit can beat it, but that's $50) and built-in upload to imgur. It's a good sidekick to Paint.NET.

No problem! Of course that's a matter of opinion, but Stylepix follows UI design more similar to Photoshop than GIMP which makes it easier for most people. The pro version is a steal too for $19.99 (one time fee, not per month!), but the free version is capable enough for casual use.

Paint.net and PicPick are two great casual image editors. I didn't realize more people didn't use these. And if you want a bit more power, Hornil Stylepix is a great free software that's pretty capable (and easier to use than GIMP).

How the fuck does it get JPEGd in the first place? What image programs do people use that heavily compress an image that badly? Paint?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
