I would text her and offer two or three specific times, ask which is best for her, and if she is busy all of those times and doesn't offer an alternative, then just move on.

In general (as in, if she were drunk, he was not, and he didn't try to stop her), I get the point, though I think it would be necessary to point out that if the man was drunk and the woman was sober, she would be raping him. In this situation, he tried to stop her, yeah, but in the end did not make it stop. So not a rapist, per say, but I feel like because she thought he was someone else he needed to actually not let it happen.

Okay, so its the fact that women are more likely to be hired/accepted to schools, etc. That makes sense. Turns out being one sex or the other doesn't make you disadvantaged, so I agree that there shouldn't be preference given to one over the other in general situations such as this. Just clarifying the opinions being made here.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the issue with the "wage gap" the fact that it is claimed that women earn less than men for doing the same work? This appears to be different- the article states that these women are employed in higher earning jobs, not that they are out earning the men doing the same thing. I don't understand the issue with that. Could someone explain why that isn't "fair"?

That's all definitely true- I didn't mean to imply that she lied, just that because he was not convicted, I'm glad that he isn't being punished for something that he wasn't proven to have done. BU is actually opening an assault prevention/resource center, which should hopefully help minimize situations like these. I'm happy about that, definitely.

I definitely agree that once an accusation is made, negative consequences should befall one of the two parties- either the rapist, if it truly happened, or the accuser, if it didn't. I definitely see where the thought of equal punishment comes from, you can ruin someone's life just by making an accusation. The Casey Anthony trial definitely could've been handled better by the media. As for the verdict- to me there seemed to be a lot of evidence against her, but I also don't know everything the judge knows, which is why I wasn't in charge of sentencing her. I don't know if I would say equal punishment for accusers and actual rapists. However it is true, in my opinion, that a person should not be able to throw out accusations just because they can. That's stupid.

I go to BU. I think everyone jumped to conclusions about this (and the other, similar case) way before there was anything to go off of. I'm glad to see that his future hasn't been compromised by the accusations. Just because some said it happened doesn't mean he should be punished. Punishment should go to those who deserve it, not those who are accused.
