Does he have kids with another woman? How was he as a husband and father to them? That's what I'd be curious about.

I'm currently rewatching it and it's shocking now how often porn is mentioned. Especially the episode with the free porn. Chandler and Joey just leave the porn on 24/7, watch it together, and leave it on when the other friends come over.

after all, the last thing they want to be thought of is being like a woman. This is why many women find the way "Karen" is currently being used is a misogynistic slur... calling a man a woman's name as an insult because men think being a woman is degrading.

That first sentence reminded me that I went one date with a similar age gap and life dynamic as her situation (over 12 years ago). However, during the date I felt like I was on a date with my dad and never saw him again after he walked me home. I'm so glad I didn't pursue that!

I recommend Black Book with Carice van Houten. I don't remember the full storyline but I do remember that I enjoyed watching it.

This reminds me of a ring my mom bought for me when I was 6 or 7 for a couple of dollars.

I made the mistake of reading them as well. It made me so sad thinking about this woman reading those comments all piling on calling her an asshole.

Exactly. This wasn't on me.

That was it! I thought "there's no way he says things like this to his male friends."

Thanks. I'm over it, though. This particular incident made me look at the friendship through a different lens and I realized he was always this way but I just tended to shrug it off. That's why he thought he could get away with it again. I finally realized how disrespectful he is.

Earlier this year I blocked a male who had been a friend for 15 years because he asked me to send topless photos. He messaged back from a number I didn't recognize saying he "didn't think I would be offended" and to not throw the whole friendship out. Before FDS I would've caved and unblocked. Not now.

And he gave her a name but his wife is just "wife."

I don't remember which sub I was on but some man commented that he's 31 and in a dead bedroom situation. He seemed very bitter so I looked at his profile. All of it was porn/nsfw submissions where he posted like he was the women in the photos. It was disgusting. You're a pornsick creep. No wonder your wife doesn't want to have sex with you.

I'm pretty sure it was originally written about George Bush. This song came out just after the end of his presidency. Before I clicked to post the above comment I decided to look it up on wikipedia: At a concert in São Paulo, Brazil, Allen stated, "It was originally written about this fucking arsehole who used to be the President of the United States of America. His name is George W. Bush."

Wow. You're really doubling down on the victim blaming here. Just because some women react that way to men's bad behavior doesn't mean they're the cause of men's behavior. Men know what they're doing is wrong and should take responsibility to learn why it's wrong, why they're doing it, and stop doing it. That's why it's taught here to block and delete. It's not up to women to teach men how to be better. Grown adults need to take responsibility for their own actions.

My comment saying it is gross was removed because it was "low quality." I was thinking the same thing as your edit.

Wow. What an ignorant statement. You don't think that the constant threat of male violence has anything to do with it? Or maybe the way males are socialized from birth by society? No? Male behavior is women's fault. 1st rule of misogyny: Women are responsible for what men do.

I, personally, don't want the ring marker that I "belong" to a man because I have a ring on a certain finger... but as as always, it's up to each individual on how/what each tradition means to each partner.

I hate the idea of a proposal at all. I feel like it should be a private discussion. I don't get the "pull out a ring and ask the question" idea if they've already discussed it and agreed that's what they want.

Yep. I was just thinking about an instance of this while browsing this sub. In college, I was at a bar waiting for a girlfriend and this bar regular I knew sat next to me and said he'd like to take me out for a steak dinner. I was definitely not interested in the guy so I said no. Then he got mean and said something like "do you just wanna go and fuck then?" I said no again and I don't really remember what happened after that... it was about 15 years ago.

It looks like it might be "Mezzo Mini Holographic Trash Can" which was sold in urban outfitters in 2018.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
