Preach 🙌 Single fathers are waaay more of a red flag than single mothers -- who, let's be real, are doing the MOST for their children vs. a weekend dad. And for dads who actually parent/take proper care of their kids, good for them, but not for me as someone who is CF.

Thanks for implementing this! Must admit, I was getting tired of the Tik Tok posts. I miss the long form content!

I watched the doc Hot Girls Wanted the other day and went on Reddit looking to discuss it. The majority of the posts I found were full of victim blaming for the women depicted and mental gymnastics on how it wasn't an accurate portrayal of the porn industry. 🙄

None of the live-in hetero relationships around me are equitable (even the most seemingly stable, happy and long term relationships). Having lived with someone for 6 years myself, I didn't see it either. We lived in squalor, only because I didn't want to be the only one cleaning. It's so much better to be living solo and having a clean home that's decorated to my tastes.

Laura Linney in Ozark is a similar character to Walt, and of course Reddit and a wide majority of the audience hate her for it.

I've watched the movie, and have come across this passage several times, today however this one part stuck out for me -- waiting for the day they start emulating us and our hobbies and think it's cool. I hate how so called "feminine" interests like make up, fashion or reality TV are deemed shallow.

Too funny!!! I was thinking this exact thing in response to the post above. 🤣🤣🤣

I am also a fan of brunch/lunch dates vs. dinner. For me, it's an issue of safety getting home afterwards on transit. Plus, if we enjoy each other's company, we could prolong the date a bit into the day. But I'm strongly anti-any sort of drink type date too (nothing ever good ever comes of it), just opt for video to test for catfishing/conversational chemistry.

Everyone in that thread saying NAH and ESH are even trying to say that if the situation was reverse, everyone would be out for blood. 🙄 Uhhh no, if it was the reverse situation, sadly there wouldn't even be a discussion. You see women uprooting themselves/sacrificing their "dream jobs" all the time as trailing spouses and to be stay at home mothers. Honestly good riddance for this woman! I hope she doesn't have to pay a dime in alimony.

I saw this too. The last straw for her was apparently when someone asked her to be careful that her youth pastor boyfriend might be with her for nefarious reasons (pedo). They weren't calling him a pedo, just calling on her to vet him more carefully before letting him move in. I mean the parish doesn't have the greatest track record dealing with children. That's just a fact. For her son's sake, I hope she's not gonna let some guy she's dated for 6 months move in with her and her son, please. 🤦🏻‍…

I know right? His response to suddenly want to pull 40% of his salary out of their joint account to "catch up" is very tit-for-tat. In one of his comments, he mentioned finding the statement in the garbage which makes things worse.

That's how that AITA OP found his wife's account too! Doubling down on online-only everything.

I literally saw this a few minutes ago, and was thinking FDS would have a field day 🤣 I am one of those people who can't get back to sleep after a night time pee, and I would never in a million years do this. It's so gross! 🤢 Make him drink from these cups too, bet he wouldn't.

This is so fucking shitty. I could see some guy using leisure time thing to justify this to his wife as them having "equal" free time when negotiating childcare/house duties. 🤢

If you feel like sharing, can you tell us some of the red flags you saw in hindsight? I'm leaning towards being childfree because of the fact it's so hard to predict what kind of parent/partner someone will be.

Not to mention she made 90K more than him prior to being SAHM. The house, car everything was paid with her money. Now this betrayal after 3 kids. This is such a horror story.

Thanks so much for detailing these out! The first point is so tough for me - I like chatty people, but at the same time I hate sharing/talking about myself. Working on the latter in therapy. But I tend to attract one-sided "friendships" with people who like to hear themselves talk.

I'm kind of fresh getting back into friendships after a period of isolation/relationships from late-high school to my early career. What does the bare minimum in a friendship look like? I feel like I'm a pickmeisha but for friends if that makes sense. I need a better vetting system for friendships haha.

YES, lawd Animal Crossing. I remember reading about the NVMs who: 1) Deleted his gf's whole AC account (which she spent hours creating to share with him) without her knowledge to start his own. 2) Flushed the entire game down the toilet (wtf ?), because his gf wasn't cooking/cleaning. Curious about the mobile app and anti-mason jar. Will look it up for later if I'm ever in a rage mood lol. There's a new one up too about a 24F wife who found poo chunks on the shower head from her 31M husband who …

I agree with all of this. My last LTR was with someone who hid his gaming tendencies. It wasn't until we lived together, I saw how bad it was. Mind you, the guy I dated before that was also a gamer, so when we moved in together I said I didn't want to have any game systems in the house. So what does he do? Get addicted to a game on his phone! He was literally on his phone at all waking moments playing this game. I'm SO glad I got out of that. Will be vetting so much more carefully from now on. N…

They're both fairly newly married, and stayed quiet during the conversation. Thinking about it afterwards, I can see why - d'oh! The one who is pregnant is really happy with her husband. I've been friends with him a long time too, and happy to say he really grew into an HVM. The other married one I know has had some trouble adjusting to living with her husband. Overall, I am 100% behind what they're saying in the article, just wish I chose my words more carefully. My group of gals are all kind, …

This got me so angry, I had to go and read the original post. I was pleasantly surprised 99% of comments said NTA. Most of the time, the mental gymnastics AITA commenters go through to justify LVM behaviour is nauseating.

You're very welcome. :) I took a look at your profile and want to comment more on how similar it was. My ex was my best (and maybe only true) friend too, and he always made me feel loved - which is why our relationship lasted as long as it did (5 years). I haven't figured it out yet, still trying to fill that gaping hole with love and care for myself instead. In the end though, those changes I wanted from him (similar to your bf, not financially secure, always playing video games, etc) were brou…

Hey there, just want to chime in support to say I've been exactly where you are - and you totally have it in you to break it off. I was with a boyfriend for way too long when I knew deep down I didn't see a future. Was scared of breaking up because of my social anxiety, and the fact that he was my only emotional support. I did it anyway at the beginning of this year, and NO. REGRETS. Time spent worrying about the relationship was now free to do all the things I wanted, that he didn't want to do …
