I think most people are actually left/right depending on the topic instead of a hardline leftist/rightist on everything. I know I am. I just don't identify as either side anymore because it's useless as an identifier.

I would be livid if my husband just sat there while someone took our son away. ABROAD. In an unfamiliar place. There is no reset button. There is only one son. Don't just fucking sit there. Get our son back!

In China boys were preferred over girls. Decades of one child policy later the country now has a gender imbalance of 112 boys : 100 girls. The consequences are significant, mostly in the form of hyper competition between men. Many men are unmarriable because there simply aren't enough women. An oversupply of girl infants is not doing them justice. They will face harsher competition, where being average or decent isn't good enough.

What can a mother do to instill the dangers of having unprotected sex in her son? Punishing to victim to protect the rapist, this is so fucked up...

In the non profit I worked at 90% of the staff are white women. There was a token white guy and a couple Latinas also white passing. It's an organization that is 90% white woman top down. And they keep talking about diversity and inclusion every meeting. I was the token Asian woman. It was hard to not laugh but I said the right words so I don't get outed. Sometimes I wonder if everyone knows it's all bs deep down or if they really buy in to the words they say.

If I could do the things you listed I would like to think my son is gonna be okay. Thank you, it is empowering to read a veteran Mom's advice. Good luck to your son. He's lucky to have you.

But have you considered the male privilege in this case? She'll never have the privilege of safety in walking alone at night. He should check his privilege. /s

Makes sense. Honestly I’m just jealous. I wish I could go through life like that. Who cares if other people secretly thinks I’m entitled. I know if I were in their shoes I wouldn’t care. What matters is I’m having a good time.

And you would be right on that last sentence too. I am a first gen immigrant from Asia. It’s easy to tell when someone lived an easier life, never been discriminated against, and has it all put together for them. They talk with a sense of naive entitlement, like “just do this” or “why didn’t you just do that”. Well, “that” was never an option for me as a non-white non-American woman. I am not sure if it’s the Americanness or whiteness that causes them to be like this. But usually they’re also th…

I do. Sex is something special. I hope that it is too for my spouse. A person with 58 body count does not treat sex as something reserved for their significant other.

🤡 world. Holding a woman accountable is and will continue to be a pipe dream.

Just hold people accountable, men or women. This is the way.

‘It’s not the same!1!1!1!’ It’s never been about true equality. But women power.

Fuck, even at 18-19 people still think it’s wrong because she’s barely of age. But when it’s a barely of age boy… welp he’s a man now he’s totally aware of the consequences and making a mature and well thought out decision.

Exactly what I thought. She never initiated it. Never waved his man down. Never went in for the first hit.

Attractive people don’t get raped 7 times a year either. Rapists choose their victims based on easy access and body strength. They want weak women alone in quiet neighborhoods, not a hot babe.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
