Yep he met up w her. Guaranteed.

She likely always was the abuser, or was 50/50. I’m sure my ex says I was the “abuser” to her next husband because I held her by her shoulders after she kicked the door down and started hitting me. She had tiny bruises on her shoulder from it and held that over my head forever, and I’m sure tells all her new relationships about how abusive I was. That was the one time I put hands on her aggressively and it was literally self defense as she was hitting and kicking me.

Bro….with social media you get 6,7,8s getting more attention from men than 9/10s did back before SM.. Basically any woman that has decent teeth and hair can and will het trapped in the delusional attention bubble.

Yep! They all think this is what is going to happen 😂 took my ex about 6 months to realize that was a fantasy.

She is learning she doesn’t make shit. I’m literally buying a new house before even selling our old house. She’s been mooching off her family living for free this entire time and still can’t afford to move out. She broke up ? Nah she’s broke, I’m up. 😂

It looks like she’s not going to get alimony. We are still in the divorce process because in my state you have to be separated for a year (it’s been 10 months)….the last settlement offer her lawyer sent, she was willing to forego alimony for a portion of my retirement. So we will see. My friend in the story didn’t get a lawyer and fucked himself. My ex didn’t realize this, and nothing in this divorce is going according to her peachy plan.

I will always discourage a man from getting married. To get married you are either naive (which is most of us the first time around) or an absolute idiot (2nd marriage, and those that were firmly warned).

🤣 yep…our relationship had declined a lot up to that point, it was bound to happen. But looking back I think that was the trigger for her to say…yep gimme the $$

A point in this is….my ex and I had a friend couple that divorced and she got awarded alimony at $850 a month. I could feel my ex perk up when she told us that….it wasn’t long after my ex left.

Exactly. Plus, even if a woman enters a marriage with honest and sincere intentions…..they can discover points 2 and 3 at any time for the rest of their life.

I’ll never get married again, and if I could go back I wouldn’t have gotten married. Men have so much more to lose than women. If it’s worth it to you to lose essentially everything you have, and give it to her when she decides she’s bored of you, then go for it. (Also, before you think she’ll never get bored if you, me and thousands in this sub were 1000% sure of the same thing at one point). My advice….go to the divorce sub and read the reasons the women are getting divorced vs the reason men …

I got a girlfriend pretty quick after my wife leaving and tbh it helped me feel confident in the “okay, if I want to I can quickly get a gf whenever I want” type of way. With that confidence in the back of my mind i broke it off with her and have been purely focusing on myself, knowing I could get a gf tomorrow if I feel too lonely. Getting a gf might help just let her know up front it’s not serious. Women don’t like this, just a heads up.

Understand that modern women have this appeal to “be friends with their ex”. It makes them feel so modern and mature to their friend group. That’s the only reason she wants to be friends, appearance. If you don’t wanna be friends with her then don’t. She’s doing it for selfish reasons anyways.

I bought a house during separation. In my state you have to be separated a year to divorce so it’s somewhat common. You just have to get her to sign a quit claim deed or a free trader agreement. If she wants you out she’ll sign. In my case the sooner my ex signed the sooner we could sell our old house, the sooner she got her share of the equity. You just gotta find a way for it to benefit her and she’ll sign.

You can buy a house with a free trader but she has to sign it.

My ex moved back with her family clear across the country. I’ve been in the house we lived in together the entire separation. She just found out I’m selling the house and buying my own and she is currently “tripping balls”. By that I mean calling me, emailing me, messaging me on social media….. I ignore her so I’m not exactly sure what her issue is but I am assuming it’s something along the lines of: She left me, and this entire time she had the thought in the back of her mind “worst case this d…

Decided to date women? ….yea they probably ain’t begging to come back. Cheating with best friend? I’d say that has a high likelihood of regret in the future. That’s a woman seeking validation and adventure and that wears off. Depending on age can wear off fast.

I don’t think that’s true…I know many that regret it. Women are very emotional and will initiate a divorce over illogical emotions they are feeling. Logic hits them in the face eventually. My ex has been reaching out to me a lot lately, and my sister (they’ve stayed in touch) told me it appears my ex regrets leaving.
/r/Divorce_Men02/06/23 06:00 PM

It’s none of your options. I stayed with my ex five years longer than I should have simply because I didn’t want to pay alimony or split MY investments 50/50 with her. I just hoped things wound get better. Read this sub, and you’ll see this come up as a reason over half the time. It’s cheaper to keep her. The system is so rigged against men, they have to choose between a horrible marriage and getting screwed by the system. Two bad options and it’s easier to stick with the devil you know.

Awesome! I used to run a lot and I was naturally pretty good at it. I stopped for years. So I just picked back up long distance running/marathons/ultra marathons. It’s a time consuming hobby if nothing else. Also, with my goals I physically check them off on a white board as I go. It’s just a physical action that makes it feel like something was definitively accomplished. Idk it helps me.

Yes go for alimony….the more women that have to pay alimony, the more likely it is they push to end these archaic alimony laws that fuck men over. Do it for the cause if nothing else.

Been there. My first few months alone were similar. This immediately helped and now I truly dont think/care about my ex, 9 months in to separation. Quit drinking alcohol (if you do). Alcohol can cause depressive tendencies for days after your last drink. Just quit trust me. Find a hobby. Make a list each day of 4 (or so things) that make a day successful. Example if you went to work, exercised, talked to your kids and ate 3 square meals. Make it 4 things you typically do, but 4 things no one can…

Mine is doing the exact same thing. She’s trying to reach out and have a conversation for every little thing…I haven’t answered back for a few weeks now. Can’t confirm because I refuse to talk to her but she seems to regret leaving… Don’t even consider going back. You’ll regret it.

My ex didn’t save a dime. Spent all her money and a lot of mine. She got half my saving, retirement and a portion of my pension. Take what is yours for the rest of the men on here. If enough women start getting “screwed” in divorce, the legal system might actually change and be more fair to men. Do it for the cause.

Of the 400,000 people in the United States receiving post-divorce spousal maintenance, just 3 percent were men, according to Census figures. Yet 40 percent of households are headed by female breadwinners — suggesting that hundreds of thousands of men are eligible for alimony, yet don’t receive it. https://www.forbes.com/sites/emmajohnson/2014/11/20/why-do-so-few-men-get-alimony/amp/

Women: get paid monthly to get a divorce. Men: have to pay an ex spouse for an unknown amount of time to get a divorce. In this scenario who seems more likely to file? And don’t say alimony is gender neutral. 41% of women are breadwinners as of 2022. 3% of alimony payments are from women to men. The system is biased against men no matter how they try to spin it. Men have WAY more to lose in a divorce, so the relationship has to be exponentially worse from the man’s perspective to file. A woman w…

Yep. I had a fwb situation for about 2 months and I laid it out from the beginning exactly what it is…. After about 6 weeks she started pressing for a relationship, she wouldn’t stop, 2 weeks later I told her I’m done. Haven’t even attempted meeting a woman since.

Quit looking for women for a little while. When I first got divorced I did what you’re doing and thought I was happy, or having fun. After my last relationship went to shit I 100% quit trying to find women and focused on myself outside of relying on another person to make me happy and I’ve never been happier. I’ve learned what actually makes ME happy (what I like to do for fun, what I like my daily routine to look like, what I like to eat, how much I want to spend on entertainment/food etc. for …

The longer you wait the worse the divorce will be for you. I was married for 10 years. At year 2 I was noticing things about her I really didn’t like and knew I didn’t want to deal with. I just told myself to keep chugging along and maybe she’ll change. 8 years later, I’m about to be stuck paying alimony for years and she gets a portion of my pension. I wish I could go back to year 2 and divorce her. I wish I could be in your situation. Every year that passes is another excuse a judge and lawyer…

Yes, but when a woman wants to leave, they leave AND get paid alimony to do so. This is what I mean by it punishes men. If a man wants to show her the door, he has to pay to get her out. It’s much easier for a woman to leave because she gets paid. A man has to pay.

Yep! Women are more emotional by nature, which makes them more inclined to be brainwashed by the ad industry/social media etc. This causes them to never be happy because they think they are entitled to things they aren’t entitled to. Advertisements by nature make you want something you don’t have. Women don’t know where to point the blame for their unhappiness so it falls on their husband. My ex left to be closer to her family, and this was a major contention point in our marriage. We lived acro…

After a 10 year marriage and going through divorce currently, trust me when I say what you’re going through now isn’t as bad as it would be in a few years. My brother is currently in a great relationship. I told him and his gf to just live together happily and don’t let the govt get involved in their relationship. The risks to marriage are not worth any “rewards”.

I’m not trying to downplay what you’re going through and it sucks….but as far as men getting screwed by the courts, there is no debate. 41% of women were the breadwinners in 2022. Only 3% of all alimony payments are from women to men. If the court based it on “the breadwinner” rather than gender, alimony would reflect 41% of women pay alimony. There is a very obvious disparity.

Mine did the same thing. Said gross income is $1800 per month with rent $1500 per month. She says she’s at a deficit $2000 per month after all expenses. She lives for free with her family and parents are paying legal fees. She got a job right after separation and quit in 2 weeks because she didn’t like her boss. 6 months later she finally got another job.

I was with my ex for 10 years. Emotionally I had moved on at about 4 months. The few months before that were shitty for me emotionally though. It’s hard, but time passes and one day you’ll wake up, go about your day and realize you haven’t thought about her.

My ex just made my life absolute hell until I gave in and told her I wanted a divorce. I couldn’t say a word without starting a fight. Within a week she moved back home all the way across the US. She was looking for an excuse to go back home but needed me to validate the decision for her.

It’s hard. My ex wife left about 3 months ago, and she was convinced I was the one making her unhappy. She had also convinced me I was the problem. She moved back home and immediately started causing problems with her entire family. She is not the type to ever admit she’s the problem so it’s irrelevant. But, it is very difficult and I’m still struggling, but emotionally getting better. People would give me advice like go to the gym, join a club, socialize etc. but I just didn’t feel like it unti…

Thanks for the advice! I have been working out a lot. I’m actually in better shape since the divorce than I’ve been in years….but it’s not to impress anyone, which is odd. I’m literally working out to keep my mind off things and I’m not even enjoying the results. I’ll make that 5 year plan. That’s a great idea. Yea it’s weird I don’t feel like dating, being with any woman in any way. It’s like I’m in this fog. I’ll have 1 decent day for every 5-6 really down days. It’s been 3 months.

“Ending up alone” is oversimplified. I used to be a first responder and had to respond to every death. Almost everyone dies alone or in a nursing home. Even if they have 10 kids, the kids don’t want to take care of their dying parent. The spouse is either dead or can’t even take care of themself, let alone their spouse. Dying of natural causes (old age) takes a long time, and by the time you die, everyone is tired of taking care of you. It sounds cynical, but it’s real life. Far more often than …
