I do happily live on the coast now, but I’ve lived in the South and Midwest too. I’m not saying those are bad places to live (although the overturning of Roe definitely makes me reconsider that), but saying a mediocre salary is okay because the location is also mediocre is not exactly a flex.

Yesterday I went to Downtown LA to look at a condo I’m considering buying. It’s a beautiful unit and I think it would be a great investment as a first home, but unfortunately the area has gotten worse in terms of homelessness since Covid. I wasn’t dressed up or anything yesterday, but in a 1 block walk from my car to the building, I was sexually harassed by 2 guys…so yeah, not really comfortable living with that until the neighborhood improves.
