To answer your first question, I concur with the folks below. Don't go out and buy a course. I think the book has what you need. Now, if you have $250 to burn, by all means. Now for your other question, Mark Manson or Robert Glover. I learned about Dr. Robert Glover while reading one of Mark Manson's books (sorry I can't remember which one, but it may have been "Models".) I liked your writeup; however, I was confused in reading his book, "Dating Essentials for Men," as it pertains to approach. He indicates that he does not advocate approach or pickup; however, when reading, he talks about the need to go out and get rejected a lot, date lots of women, and test women for interest. How do you do that if you don't approach? Just looking for thoughts anyone may have had on the topic of approach when reading the book.
