Most philosophy doesn't really have an expiration date (unless it actually is philosophically useless, but that would make any work with the same basis have a similarly low value). 1	There is a difference I've never read The Second Sex, but judging from its publish date, I'm going to assume that the main issue is that it was written in a different time. French women only got the right to vote in 1945. American women only got the right to vote a little before that. In a legal and political system controlled solely by men, women faced discrimination in property rights, workplace rights and voting rights.
