The study does not actually say that. It's a bad article. The actual study never asked about happiness. The only way I can assume the author extrapolated "happiness" was from the handful of questions that asked about ?loneliness? compared it to relationship status. It finds that people who are married are less likely to report that they are lonely, compared to co-habitating, in a relationship, and not in a relationship. It does not mention children. Link to the Study is on This Page

Ah. Now I have heard of it. Doesn't seem to be a thing in the USA, though, which is where I'm from. Not that the USA is the center of the world, but it is my frame of reference. The top comment on that post makes a good point about how everyone should get flexible health time.

I mean, personally, I've never heard of a company offering days off just for people with periods, so it kind of feels like a false flag? But even if it were a common thing, I think all companies should be more flexible with sick days and medical leave, regardless of the employee's gender or reason. And I think the retirement age should be the same across the board. The average man dies earlier than the average woman, but that doesn't mean anything for the individual. Let's build a world that hel…

Or give people more flexible medical/sick-leave? Do you actually care about Men's Rights, or do you just want to make women suffer more?
/r/MensRights03/06/22 11:00 PM

Okay- so let's make the retirement age earlier, and the same for everyone?

Okay, but let's consider the real answer: When the idea of "retirement age" was created, men were the ones doing most of the out-of-house work, and women were mostly at home. The man was expected to pretty much have prepared to take care of himself and his wife in retirement, much as he took care of them while working (financially) Having the same retirement age is simply about equality - you can "retire" at ~65 (or whatever) and the social security benefit you receive is based on however much w…

This is actually very scary and sad, now that you mention it. Because guns are represented as quick and final - basically painless if you want to kill yourself - and to someone who just wants it to be over with, it makes sense for that to be the way to go... In highschool, a kid a grade older than me shot himself in the head and died a few months before graduation. At its base, it's not really a gun issue but the stigma of having mental health issues and not being able to get help.

Hm. Very true. Good point. I guess I saw it as more of an "entitled artist" attitude, as opposed to a "pussy pass", but they are very similar and I see your point. Thank you.

I guess I am ignorant then? Isn't a pussy pass when a female does something and assumes that they won't be punished/retaliated against, because they are a woman? This article didn't seem on-brand because this person vandalized a wall and then got upset when it got painted over. Idk. It was missing the "pussy" element, to me... unless we're now including anyone who gets punished for doing something wrong?

I don't know if this is "pussy pass" material, just because the vandal is female... but regardless, you can't just graffiti something that doesn't belong to you and then be mad that they covered it up??? Grafitti/vandalism is a crime and the "artist" deserves to be punished, male or female.

Ah. "Crotch Bleeder" as an insult. Because having this biological process should be shameful. Simple things like this are why people scoff at the idea of "Men's Rights" and why the crazy feminists think its okay to put down and degrade men- you need better insults

I generally try to keep my tone conversational, but I'll keep that ellipse tip in mind! http://pin.it/o6eXXRe - this is kind of the point I was going for, sorry it isn't a link, I'm on mobile. Basically, do you hate feminism simply because of the "fem"? Because there's the Hate-All-Men "feminists" that you hear about and see on social media, and there's the much more moderate feminists, who really are "equalists" or "humanists", if it's the name you're getting caught up on.

Right. It IS irrelevant today, which is why it should be done away with. Men DO need support. What's happening now is not right, but those who are in charge of it seem to think it's okay. And based on history, we have a pretty good idea of what their views and experiences are and why they feel the way they do. So how do we change their views?

I try to be temperate. When I see or talk with people who are being radical, I try to help them see the other side.. For example, those who say men can't be raped or that women can't be scientists because biology.. etc... I'm aware of the privileges I have, and I try to be open minded to those who don't have those privileges, because we can't fix a problem if we don't understand the root of it. The only change I really can do is try to change people's minds, and try to avoid people turning to ra…

Well, for example, in the 1900s-1950s or so, "upper education" for most women was wifery/finishing school, because women were only supposed to be wives and mothers. How can we have equality if women weren't allowed in to real colleges, to study every other subject at the time? ... so these scholarships were created to help women get in to these colleges (or force a college to accept the woman because they can't use the excuse "she has no money") I don't pay much attention to the mainstream crazy…

I also agree that women should be a part of the draft. Maybe mandatory service? Or we get rid of the draft conpletely. The crazy feminists are some of the most toxic people I've ever seen. It's unfortunate and stupid that they get screen time- and it's ridiculous that someone has to act crazy to try and get their point across.

I don't want to stop mens rights. I feel that they are the same issue, so pushing one down to raise another doesn't fix anything.
/r/MensRights30/08/17 02:07 PM

Do you think society of that time would allow women to join the draft anyway? I agree that's an inequality, but when you look at history, you have to take it in context. What are your biggest grievances? Because to me, it's all an issue. Men's Rights/ Women's Rights are just two sides of the same coin.
/r/MensRights30/08/17 01:29 PM

What legal rights do women have that men don't? Besides being forced to join the draft, which is an outdated system that isn't really in use today? But the dying 5 years earlier, and the medical stuff, is a true problem... so let's talk about that. Why does a Women's Only Scholarship affect the medical research being done on prostate cancer? ... it doesnt... but it's all a part of the same system- men being treated as not needing help and women being helpless, when the truth is that everyone nee…

If you knew much about feminist history, you'd know that the original feminist wanted to have the same rights as men, ( it was these men that put them on pedestals) and it's evolved to something that stands for both genders.... "Let girls be tough and let boys show emotion" etc... if you're hating it just because of the name, call it equalism lol... don't be ignorant like the Affordable Care Act vs. ObamaCare crowd...

I think part of the problem is that the donors are people who feel that they were discriminated against in the past (black, women, whatever) - And they want their money to help people like themselves (... so it's about overcoming the "obstacle" as opposed to helping good students) ... how do we fix this?
/r/MensRights30/08/17 04:36 AM

I am agreeing with You! ... We have the ability to look to the past and see why things are like they are now! ... It's not okay, but there are a lot of people who think it Is- so how do we fix it?

True feminism is equalism. People judged on skills, merit, and personality- not by gender. There shouldn't be "men issues" and "women issues" - like you listed above, yea, men have had to deal with a lot of shit too! Simply because they're men! That's what this sub is about! ... but women have had to deal with their own issues too! Just because they're women! ... this sub shouldn't be another version of r/pussypassdenied... This shouldn't be men vs. women, it should be a new way of judging peopl…

That's very interesting... and that's obviously a problem.... I suppose the best thing to do would be to get rid of all scholarships that require gender or race ...but it's unfair to take money away from those who need it... so all scholarships should be allowed, no matter what the race/gender requirements are. Ontario made a bad call.

These alleged problems are the reason why these special scholarships exist. People believe that women need this special treatment, because in the past, they did need it. They don't anymore, but people still believe they do and that's why we need mens right/women's right/feminism/equalism etc. Women shouldnt be treated like special delicate flowers and men shouldn't be treated like emotionless statues. People should be treated on skill and merit. So how do we change the world's current views?

I understand why you're upset, and why it seems unfair, but historically, white men have had an easier time getting in to college, working through college, and getting a job hassle free. Affirmative action has helped people of color and women get in to college when in the past they would have been ignored or turned away. That's why these scholarship organizations exist, to be a support group "by women, for women", in a sector where women were at a loss. Obviously, the times have changed but thes…

I Couldn't even get all of the way through the article.... was it meant to be sarcasm? "It's just a numbers game... men are allowed to be picky... It's not fair" - just like the dating scene in your 20s, except the women have the advantage? In current western culture, to be single after your late thirties indicates a "problem" (not that this is a fair assumption, but it is one that people have) - being a divorced mother of 2 is not attractive to a "Good man", and by normal conventions, most of t…

At the youngest, she's 22, graduated from college, with a real adult job. 1)what would she want with some highschool punk? She is far beyond you in life-stages. 2) if she is interested in you, what kind of "creep" does that make her? Why would she risk her life and teaching license going after some underaged dick? (in the US, if you're still in high school, and she's a teacher, its rape because of the age of majority and the imbalance of power) If you really wanna hit her up, wait until after yo…

To be fair though, she did say this 3 years ago. When you're in your 20s, 3 years is a long time to grow and change your beliefs. I think the "proper" feminist voice would be that a person can choose or not choose to show off their bodies, as long as its for themselves. But then, If someone, like Beyonce, is acting sexy like this, is she doing it for herself or to play off of the sexual emotions of men and the scandal of women? And then, even if she is doing it "for the men", does she not have t…

Alright lets not turn this into a redpill debate.... "Not All Feminists" aka, most, would see this as a step forward- or that gender exclusive scholarships should be banned completely. ... Unfortunately, it's the crazy ones that make the news and act all butt hurt ... I think we all know that equality for all is the best option, so instead of putting down the "opponents" (and in our generalizing, an entire gender), lets instead praise the actual news and give less attention to loud ignorant bird…

I'm not sure which time period you want to discuss but we do have evidence of women admitting to being raped and their family taking revenge. Ex: rape-marriage in the Bible and Shakespeare's Titus Andronicus I imagine its the religion/Puritan founding of America that really drove home the "shamefullness" of being raped. (where before it was more of a fact of life- people fuck) "How dare you accuse an outstanding member of our pure and chaste religious community of doing that to you! He must have…
