As a single father filling out scholarship applications, this frustrates me.I've never heard of a school or school district offering a scholarship with public money. There are lots of school districts that have supporting foundations that raise private funds for scholarships, though. There is almost a zero percent chance that this is funded with federal or state dollars, and even if it was, it appears to be open to applications by students of both sexes - so no title IX violation. | /r/MensRights | 25/04/15 09:43 PM

I am currently living in a warzone as a contractor. My ex tried to serve child support papers. You are using traditional shaming tactics to demand that this man live up to traditional gender role responsibilities of providing monetary / external to the home resources for his child... which he is actually already doing! Hiding overseas to avoid paying his full share and avoid actually being in his kid's life is shame. And yet if this guy wants the exact same options available to him, suddenly he's the scum of the earth, despite the fact that he's already paying, without force, by his own c… | /r/MensRights | 15/06/13 10:08 PM
I am currently living in a warzone as a contractor. My ex tried to serve child support papers. Not being willing to support your kid to the fullest extent of your abilities is the definition of shame. Not wanting to return to your country because you might be FORCED to support your kid to the fullest extent of your abilities is the definition of shame. Real men raise their kids. They don't hide from them overseas. | /r/MensRights | 15/06/13 06:30 PM

I am currently living in a warzone as a contractor. My ex tried to serve child support papers. That would probably hold up very nicely in court. If she agreed to it and you can prove you've been sticking to it without fail. | /r/MensRights | 15/06/13 04:46 PM
I am currently living in a warzone as a contractor. My ex tried to serve child support papers.....And never see your kid(s) again? Doesn't sound like good advice. Here's a better idea. Instead of being a douche absentee father, be a fucking man and pay for your kid. | /r/MensRights | 15/06/13 04:46 PM
I am currently living in a warzone as a contractor. My ex tried to serve child support papers. How much you make has nothing to do with a default judgment. If you don't respond to a lawsuit, you default, and judgment for what the plaintiff is asking for is automatically entered against you. You can file to have that default judgment vacated on the premise that you were out of the country, that the plaintiff KNEW you were out of the country, etc...but if you know that papers are being served, you're aware of the lawsuit and you may have a hard time fighting that. | /r/MensRights | 15/06/13 04:44 PM
