how is RPmarried different from the main RP subreddit, would you say? I'm more familiar with the main one, but it seems like a top ten rule is never, ever get married.

I guess it makes sense people with high drives can have low numbers if they got into a stable long term relationship early on.

to be clear, I just think that's factually inaccurate. in africa, that might apply to some very remote, rural people. many of those people still have communication technology. the societies have completely changed. then there's china and india. I mean, we can go back and forth. believe what you want but get the facts right.

at first I thought: so wait, you're a guy with a bunch of hang-ups who is seeking a young attractive girl who is not a whore but kinda freaky? but then I read it's not a checklist lol theoretically you're right about sex drive/partner count but I don't think that's very common.

I dunno about the theoretical whore guy. A lot of the unicorn-ish girls I know want someone with similar values on sex and family. They're not prudes but big disparities seem like they make both genders uneasy. So I dunno. A lot of RP stuff would make sense if it weren't dialed up to 12. The thread on not finding women attractive anymore (even though it seemed like the OP wanted a relationship) was very depressing when a bunch of other people chimed in. It's weird the demographic is young but th…

you need to get out more if you think those countries are in the 14th century. you know they have like, internet now?

Well, they're obviously substantial to child brides just as activism against forced labor is relevant to diamond miners or child soldiers. And some lives are shittier than others because of gender, so gender clearly has to be addressed as a contributing factor. Abuse isn't equally applied across the board. Side note, about 40% of child soldiers are girls, too.

well, there's feminists in india and africa for sure. women aren't necessarily resigned to their fate in those places.

I think it depends on where you're looking to some extent. And if you're willing to settle for below a 10s (10s probably sleep around unless they're super religious because hey, why not). I bet it's geographical, too. I had one other partner before marriage so I dunno if I count. I have a decent amount of friends who also have low-to-no other partners than their SO. but that type of girl is naturally marriage-minded so an RP guy can't expect to have a LTR-no-marriage-ever relationship. I also do…

TRP is about acknowledging the fact that you all want to act like men and fuck as many different hot men as you can, rather than committing to a family and virtue. TRP is about becoming the "hot men" that you promiscuous sluts find attractive. See...here's where TRP loses me. I don't know any women who that applies to. But I also don't hang out in clubs. There are actually women who don't sleep around.

Well, gotta keep in mind feminism here is not the same as in other countries.

Thanks for explaining. I kinda wonder about the bit in the article about the quieter guys not being able to get a date in their 20s. I know a lot of nerdy, quiet guys who haven't had a lot of trouble getting into stable relationships (but not with 10s). So I wonder if it's just a certain type of girl ("hot" ones) who "rides the CC" and then expects to settle down with stable guys. Again, that's probably my experience...but I do my best to surround myself with sane people and haven't really obser…

You don't remember all the instances where immediate superiors/bosses/lawyers/managers/politicians/etc. are depicted as incompetent, immoral, domineering, bossy, egomaniac, crude etc.? You don't remember the instances where jocks/gym-rats/alpha-types/players/etc. had been cast in the most negative light possible at worst or as the bumbling comic relief at best while the unlikely awkward underdog won the day and got the girl? Well, to your first point, I think those categories are often set in op…

I can see that. I think a large part of the problem is that people pick bad partners but have wishful thinking about it. Just from my experience, I've seen good and bad relationships and marriages. It seems somewhat rare someone's partner just snaps out of the blue and becomes a pain. People are more predictable than that. I think our culture just privileges emotion in relationships. Arranged marriages work out better not just because the cultures frown upon divorce but you're looking at things …

well, pre-50s boys were still taught by women and pre-50s often to be hailed as a time of greater masculinity than our current time. so I don't know if the effect is huge if boys otherwise have male role models.

In one of your other posts you pointed to women teaching boys as a factor in the current masculinity crisis. But hasn't that quite often been the case? Teaching was an acceptable female career pre-feminism. Also most masculine men are STEM? eh. the most masculine men I've encountered are usually in business or just plain blue collar. I know, anecdote, but many guys in STEM have seemed kinda effeminate to me or boyish.

NPR's international reporting is pretty decent. Also tumblr-style outrage feminists are unable to process global issues and seem to avoid the subject entirely. I hate how they've come to represent feminism in general, because there are actually women doing important things in the world at great personal risk. Western feminism is very different.

Yeah, I did know that about the schoolboys because among human rights groups it actually is widely talked about. the broad public probably still has more of a kneejerk reaction to girls being captured (even very red pillish guys I know still are somewhat more protective of little girls). the whole media outrage thing doesn't do any good anyway. I'm not even MRA but I think these issues are important and people shouldn't throw their hands up.

Well, you can go overseas and have sex in large amounts but it's probably going to be pretty infrequent. If you have a job, you're taking leave to have sex. If you're retired, all that sex-travel money has to be in your budget (one flight, fine. but how many overseas flights is one gonna take?). Plus I think the potential of accidentally participating in forced prostitution, which is rife in some of those countries, is concerning. But I guess for amoral people, it's just a transaction. And maybe…

I don't know, in my experience, there may be an initial gap between caring about boys and girls but it doesn't seem to take much to get people on board caring about male children.

Don't get married, spin plates, acquire wealth, and when you get older just go to Macau and fuck Russian and Asian women half your age for cold hard cash. whatever makes people happy, but I think it's unrealistic for the average guy to think he can become independently wealthy enough to continue spinning plates into his older age. I've seen legitimately happy older married couples. compared to that, having to pay to go overseas to have sex seems pretty fucking depressing.

that's part of it but I think legitimately predators do target college campuses. young people make good targets for a variety of reasons beyond alcohol.

I don't know. People care about little boys. They just do. There are actually many conversations outside of MRA about this, looking at gendered issues from the male perspective. It may not have as much momentum but I feel like it's so defeatist to say there's no traction there.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/12/14 01:56 AM

That seems very defeatist. (From the MRA perspective) If women could take a society that wouldn't even let them own property and turn it into something "misandric" then why can't men turn the table?

2, 5 and 8 seem to be very emphasized in fictional portrayals of men. Haven't really seem noticeable instances of them being downplayed. And to a certain extent 4 and 7 seem like they can be tied into traditional patriarchal versions of being a gentleman/being polite. Not weak but maintaining decorum and honor.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/12/14 01:48 AM

I think there is a way forward that doesn't leave anyone unaccounted for. We just have to work together to find it. It might not have been you but it is an opinion I see come up a lot. People want a return to older patriarchal societies because they think then it will be balanced. But whenever someone has the upper hand, men included, they will tend to abuse it. Hypergamy and abuse kinda go hand in hand together. As we all know, not all abuse is physical in nature. Well, there's a difference bet…

Yeah, I mean, I can understand it to a certain extent. From a man's perspective, there are predatory women out there or women who do the whole AFBB thing. I just feel like it's more beneficial to screen for the crazies than to assume it's the entire female gender. I mean, I know some red pill people and did they date crazy women? yes. was it avoidable and could they have dated much saner women? yes.

Good data can produce good theories, if the steps taken between data collection to analysis are done correctly. Most theoretical debates are based on the data analysis, rather than the data itself. Sure. sure. I mean, just sounds similar when someone says essential oils have totally healed all their friends' colds. I'm not saying TRP is invalidated because of a lack of data. A lot of the moderate advice in there is fine. I guess my problem really goes deeper as to how the more extreme opinions a…

You ever see a little girl smack a boy upside the head and then laugh because "boys can't hit girls"? Not really. My siblings and I smacked the hell out of each other. Anyway, I do somewhat see what you're saying. Women shouldn't feel impunity and men feel they will be perceived as guilty...so it seems to me women should have a healthy fear of consequences, not necessarily a fear of men. But I don't really get longing for the good ol' days or looking at third world countries like some sort of mo…

As a rather red person, is that your demographic or do you just take what's applicable?
/r/PurplePillDebate05/12/14 03:10 AM

From a purely objective standpoint, I don't see why it has to be one or the other. It's possible to show emotion in warranted situations without dumping. This is just what I disagree with "A crying man, even going through extreme issues, turns off a woman." Full on blubbering breakdown? Yeah, not attractive. But I think some worthy tears can make masculine guys attractive. In other words, I don't necessarily think it's "losing frame" as long as you're not a total wreck as a person.

Yeah, but good data allows you to make good theories or predictive models. If your data is bad or too limited you don't really have hope of understanding further. A lot of people do seem to view TRP truths as measurable in some way because they will cite studies that support the theory. To me, that seems helpful. Granted, I'm sure if you did a study you'd find most women don't want an emotional wreck of a man. My problem is some women find a little emotional vulnerability sexy. TRP has no room f…

Women would actually start viewing men as desirable across the board if they knew men could hold them accountable for their abusive behaviors, and men don't want to rape women in the first place. What does physical dominance mean here? What she doesn't fear, she controls. Said another way, a woman is rendered utterly incapable of respecting men who have no way to assert any kind of tangible authority over them. This makes modern relationships nothing more than legalized prostitution with decaden…

I mean, I guess the thing is a lot of TRP seems to be based on personal experience. And some of it is decent enough advice. But other parts of it just seem to be a shared experience rather than a broad commonality. A lot of people may pipe up with the same experience of girls disliking men crying but somehow it gets codified into a truth. Then guys go into mental gymnastics explaining exceptions and outliers.

There aren't any female politicians because women don't want to be politicians. Citation? And I think for most women, enjoying this day and age is pretty practical. Birth control is acceptable, women are accepted in a wider variety of fields and it's reasonable for women to have careers, women can have a wider variety of preferences and hobbies, blatant sexual harassment is frowned upon...all these are changes from even a generation or two ago. I think neo-tumblr feminisim is shitty and stupid b…

I feel like the problem is TRP portrays every marriage like 1) it will end 2) it will end horrifically. And maybe it's portrayed that way because TRP needs that to be the case for the ideology to work. But that just doesn't gel with reality. I know happily married people. I know OLD happily married people. I also know people who got divorced and while it wasn't the happiest thing ever, it was civil and didn't leave the man in financial ruin. Man gets new girlfriend and still enjoys possessions a…

Yeah, but to me, it seems pretty fucked up when females do it to (looking good is reasonable, but all the psychological shit seems exhausting).

That's sad...honestly. I've been reading up on the red pill. I don't think these women are rare - I just think the advice the red pill men take is almost designed to push these kind of women away. Like, "don't date someone who plays games" doesn't seem to be an option. It's assumed women always play games and so men act defensively - honest, self-aware, responsible women find that pretty off-putting. At least from my observation.
