I’m really being tongue in cheek here. That’s a Sun Tzu quote. However, it is certainly true that man get short shrift when it comes to deception, particularly in what can be done to defend yourself from it and seek damages once it’s been perpetrated.

This person is only in trouble because the victim was another woman. Men get absolutely fucked and told to pound sand regarding deception in dating.

This is why the whole ‘takeout is still safe and essential ’ doesn’t sit well with me right now. The weak link is definitely the food preparation and delivery staff, and why risk it for a Big Mac?

This is a prime example of power dynamics, and rape being about those power dynamics rather than sex. However, I doubt the woke patrol will recognize the double standard for victimized males.

I wonder how this would work for child support, had she been allowed to carry on. I mean, I have a pretty good feeling I know, but I am always amazed that men have so few reproductive rights, and so little control of how unwanted pregnancies can wreck their lives. It's really difficult to grasp how (objectively) society can so adamantly tout the importance of women's reproductive rights, which I agree with, while simultaneously eschewing--or ignoring--men's reproductive rights.

Less than 40 years for killing her three kids, the second and third months after she was charged with killing the first. This is such a miscarriage of justice. Those kids had three lives ended before they started, and she’ll get to have a life again in less than 40 years. Unreal.

I can't seem to find her mugshot, or her name anywhere in the article--yet there are photos of the true victims (albeit covering their faces)....

What I can’t piece together is how in the hell is Leslie Jones famous? I’ve seen her ‘comedy’, and she isn’t funny.

I feel you, man. When my kid was born, my wife was able to take months off approved with maternity leave, and I had to rush back to work to pay the bills. When she went back to work, she wanted less stress, so she took an easy, flexible job. To make up the difference financially, I took night classes to improve my qualifications, finish a degree, and worked long hours to move up in my field. I used to kid myself that this was because I wanted to, but in reality, it's because I had to--I had to m…

Sure, but let’s be honest—in many, if not most cases ‘giving up a career’ is a euphemism for not having yo take the risks, put in the hours, or deal with the stress—because the higher earning partner does that instead and provides the beneficiary with an easier lifestyle. If kids are involved, there is child support, which is often treated like funny money anyways. Part of having children is preparing for the worst. If one partner is incapable of supporting themselves in a divorce, it’s not a ve…

The whole concept behind alimony is degrading. Effectively, you’re getting paid because the legal system doesn’t think you’re capable of making the same amount of money. I think it should be sink or swim. The idea of ‘maintaining lifestyle’ is a fucking joke,

I'm not an attorney, but I play one on TV. You're right that it will be a prosecutor, ultimately, who determines the legality of the situation. I am not in favor of circumventing the rule of law or justice, but I find it extremely hard to believe, given the relative clarity when it comes to sex acts with minors, that transmitting and/or receiving nudes is not a violation of the law.

Agree wholly, but it is refreshing to at least see that the comments are mainly about how disgusting this is, rather than things like 'where was she when I was in school' and 'way to go man, you had to ruin the good thing you had going'. I know it's because she isn't attractive, which is a messed up double standard, glass half full I suppose.

"...may be facing child porn charges for their sexting." Um.... I understand why this is phrased this way in the article--since she has yet to be formally charged by the police, but what I can't understand is why the police haven't brought this charge. It seems pretty clear that if you're sharing nudes with a minor (and presumably vice versa) that you should be charged with soliciting the creation of underage porn.

What an absolute joke--and a complete pass. Three years in jail? Also, she only has to register as a sex offender for five years, although she groomed and coerced this boy? Who cares if he 'wanted it'? The premise of a child being off limits is that they are incapable of rationally making these types of decisions, and adults have an advantage over them either due to power (which she had), status (which she had), or experience (which she had). This is a slap in the face of anyone who was hoping f…

I don’t know that I’d consider a confession ‘irrefutable’ considering the amount of research confirming that people can be coerced into certain behaviors—including false confessions. Full disclosure, I’m an advocate of capital punishment and reducing frivolous appeals, but the issue is extremely complex.
