Makes me feel sick to my stomach just picturing that, something similar happened to my cousin over the course of 6 months. She lied about being pregnant for a few weeks then told him she was “joking” and wanted to see how he’d react, then about a month later she was “joking” about “joking” about it and she actually was apparently pregnant, few months later when he smelled a rat about the lack of bump etc, guess what it all turned out to be (no prizes)! This is legitimately the first article I’ve read about false accusations that acknowledges the hardship and unwarranted backlash faced by the falsely accused. I know it makes it more difficult for genuine victims and that’s also a very serious issue, not taking away from that at all.
