I see both sides. Very very few people fail out of med school. Once your in, you'll be a doctor. That's why the premed degree is so much extra BS a doctor will never use, it's all a giant weeding out process. It can't be easy or everyone would do it. DO used to be good, it was a more holistic approach. Now it's just the kids that can't get into MD school. Your not going to any medical school with a 3.5 Gpa. You won't even get an interview. Start looking for plan Bs Source: biochem degree with 3.98 Gpa and 36Q MCAT. Applied to over 40 med schools. Got 6 interviews and 2 acceptances to tier 2 schools. Of course I am a white male but I doubt that had anything to do with it
