Wow, the point just flew completely over your head, didn't it? There's no discussing reasonably with someone who says that they view women as 'the enemy'. That's not someone coming from a point where they wish to discuss, that's someone who already has their mind made up and just wants to appear 'reasonable' by asking people to 'change their view'.

We weren't talking about simply being a housewife, we were talking about a hypothetical situation in which a woman married purely to avoid being homeless. So basically, "I will legally attach myself to you and have sex with you to avoid being on the street", which yes, I view as degrading, though - as I said in another comment - yes, slightly less degrading than being on the streets.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/02/15 03:42 PM

Slightly less degrading is how I would put it. Assuming that you're taking on everything that comes with marriage, including a sexual relationship, and that you're not marrying for an actual relationship with the other person, the physical benefits will be good but the mental drawbacks are significant.

We weren't talking about women who are educated and can work but choose not to. We were talking about women who would be homeless otherwise but marry not for love or whatever, but simply to stay off the streets. That is what I consider degrading. I feel like you completely ignored the context of the conversation to take offense on behalf of stay at home wives/mothers.

I feel like you're focusing on the physical aspects - home, safety, food - at the expense of the mental - lack of independence, lack of happiness and autonomy, etc. Considering that we're all fairly privileged in our access to the internet in the first place, etc, I didn't think that we were having a discussion of basic primal survival.

If you want to boil this down to "out of incredibly shitty options, women who are willing to degrade themselves and be completely dependant have this slightly less shitty option", then sure, I guess. However I don't see that as a shining example of how "women have it the easiest".
/r/PurplePillDebate19/02/15 06:46 PM

Are you even serious? Most women don't actually want to want to marry someone so that they can stay home and do nothing. Yes, there are some who do, but most have no desire for that lifestyle because, as I said, it's not the 1920s anymore. I don't know why you think that this is an actual example of a 'privilege' that women have.

Nope, but they have everything to do with whether or not I consider this debate worthwhile, which I now do not.

I view women as a whole and the female imperative as my enemy. How is this even a legit 'CMV' post? You don't want your POV changed, you just want to talk about how awful women are and how you hate them. You wonder why you're not getting many responses? This is why. You make it obvious that you're not worth the time or effort.

There's privilege in being white, but that does not offset the sexism and casual misogyny that still runs rampant through our culture. Do young straight white women have privilege? Absolutely, however young straight white men have far more. I mean, look at some of your posts here. 'Hordes of men waiting on your beck and call' - you mean hordes of men waiting to hit on and harass women, who view themselves as entitled to attention and sex? 'medical science mitigating most of the biological conseq…

So, knowing that 'women aren't people' is a key part of red pill knowledge, but TRP is all about self improvement and sexual strategy. Do you not see the utter lack of logic in this? I try to give TRP the benefit of the doubt in terms of the fact that guys can improve and not put women on a pedestal, gain confidence, etc. But this garbage is not that, and you guys need to realise that and call shit out when you see it being spouted instead of brushing it off.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/11/14 01:45 AM

They do, though. Most of those quotes aren't about ~self improvement~. (Please explain to me how 'I don't even view women as people' is 'self improvement, btw.) Blind hatred or disgust of women and other races is not self improvement and it's laughable that people apparently think that all of this garbage is a-okay.

The laws regarding child pornography need to be changed and pronto. Teenagers are going to text each other stupid shit and the law needs to understand that and not make it a crime. I'm not sure whether police officers like this are just on a power trip, think they're 'enforcing the letter of the law' or want to force attention to the issue through cases like this. :/

You realise the same could be said about guys, right? People shouldn't be using partner count to judge whether or not a person would be good relationship material, regardless of gender or sexuality. It's just silly.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/14 06:44 PM

I'm bisexual, so like I said, don't try and compare the two. They're nowhere near alike and the fact that you're trying to compare the two is ridiculous. I know plenty of men who don't care how many partners a woman has had, which proves the point about it being a "bio-truth" wrong. Talk to other men if you think it's "insulting" that they're proving your little pet theory wrong.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/14 03:32 PM

Like I said elsewhere, it's insulting to compare "men just don't want slutty women" with sexuality.

Well, first of all, disagreement isn't judgment, so maybe I need to make a distinction, there. There's a difference between the two. There's a lot of shaming that goes along in our society in regards to women and their sex lives, and TRP references it a lot. The idea that a woman who sleeps around must have poor judgement, doesn't respect herself, etc etc. What I'm doing is saying "Hey, there are some flaws and holes in the logic being used when you say it's okay for a man to have a high partner…

Freedom to say, think, and do what you want does not mean that other people can't or won't point out why they disagree with you. That's what I'm doing.

Pointing out flaws in other people's logic and saying that it'd be nice if everyone tried not to judge each other so much isn't 'the thought police'. The thought police would be actively censoring people or punishing them for their thoughts.

There are fewer women down for casual sex with a stranger. Did it occur to you that that has something to do with society and factions such as TRP shaming women for being down for casual sex? There's still very much a stigma against women picking up. I'm not sure why you think that the guys posting on Craigslist prove that top tier guys don't have it just as easy, btw.... Top tier guys go to a bar to pick up, I wouldn't expect them to be posting on Craiglist. I wouldn't set my sister or a female…

To be honest, to me it sounds like you're yet another guy who thinks that all girls find it so easy to pick up guys. Let me tell you how it really is: very pretty girls, like top tier, may have it that easy. But you know what? Top tier guys have it just as easy, and then the rest of the population falls in behind. The average girl is just as likely to go home without anyone to sleep with as the average guy. As for the power differential, I can at least understand that a bit better than just thin…

That's your decision and you're entitled to it, absolutely. I just don't see the sense in it and never have, to be honest. I think sex is great so of course people want to have as much of it as they can, and I don't see how that detracts for their ability to be involved in an LTR, nor how one gender is less likely to be good in an LTR than the other. I mean, tbh, I've known many guys who sleep around, get into a relationship and then hurt the woman by cheating on her, so I think the risks are th…

The average young woman is bombarded with sexual options, any guy at any age has to work hard for them. The average attractive woman and the average attractive man will be presented with many options. The rest of the population, not so much. Also, do you see the circular logic that's involved in saying that women are presented with so many sexual options, yet simultaneously saying that women need to turn down most of them? That's what I'm trying to get at, here. You're saying that women have so …

I don't believe in biological 'truths', and I don't believe that human behaviour and instinct is set in stone. I feel this way about a lot of things that TRP discusses. A lot of TRP just takes issues in society and tries to work around them, which is fine, but sometimes it looks at certain things as unchangeable and 'just the way things are', and that's where I disagree, because I think things can change. You say 'men will always be less willing to commit to a woman who has had a lot of partners…

I didn't actually say anything in there about guys not pursuing attractive women, I have to point out. What I actually think is the ideal for both genders is for them to find someone they find attractive, but isn't an asshole - it is actually possible, in my opinion. Obviously our society has to change a lot to get there, but that's my ideal.

I don't think it's naive to point out problems in our society and want to fix them - on both sides of the gender aisle.

Thought policing would be if I tried to actively punish people for their thoughts, or tried to stop them in some fashion. That's not what I'm trying to do. Instead I take the time to point out what I think are the holes in the logic that other people use, or places where they are being hypocritical, with the goal of maybe making them reconsider their position. As you said, there's no freedom from consequence - a consequence of people thinking that women sleeping with as many people as they want …

I think it's fairly obvious that what I meant is "freedom from judgement". It makes no sense in modern society to say that guys should be able to have sex with as many girls as they want but girls should be regarded as lower for the same actions. It's a stigma that's rooted in ancient mores and makes no sense in 2014. I'm surprised more guys don't realise the hypocrisy they employ by endeavouring to have sex with as many girls as possible while simultaneously shaming girls for doing the same. Ed…

I regularly see some variant of "no right to judge you", as if you have a human right, or a legally endowed right, to have people not hold disagreeable opinions about you or certain things that you do. That's because society is pushing away from the morals that it held previously. The evolution of society inevitably means that judgements that were the norm years ago eventually shift and become disfavoured. Society used to judge people and how wealthy they are by how many slaves they had, whereas…

No, I strongly disagree with pretty much all you said. Humans are complex, thinking creatures and considering all that we have accomplished and learned it's silly to say 'well, biology' when it comes to slutshaming women and glorifying men for what are in essence, the same actions. We're not helpless to control how we think and how we judge people. Of course a lot of things in our culture are rooted in the way things used to work, but in 2014 I disagree with the idea that they are still valid, n…

Feminism really does wrap right back around to Victorian prudery, apparently. Not at all. I'm not at all saying that sex is bad, quite the opposite - I think the viewpoint should be that BOTH men and women should be free to have as much sex as they like without judgement or this viewpoint that it's wrong. I don't have a problem with things in TRP like confidence, not putting women on a pedestal, etc, etc. I do have a problem with viewing it as bad that women may have multiple sexual partners, th…

It does happen, which I personally think is a huge problem in our society. Look at 50 Shades, Twilight, etc - "bad boys" are glorified in our culture and the dream of taming one is very real. I think this is really the root of the problem - a lot of things that are aimed at women push them towards glorifying alpha characteristics. In reality, I think it translates to a lot of men and women getting hurt. Even TRP says that not all men can be alpha, so by default that means that some men will get …

My key problem with TRP has always been the extremes that some posters take it too. Like take the dread game - I've seen comments and posts over there that openly advocate for constantly using it, and seem to view it as 'keeping her in line', etc. That's where it edges into emotional abuse territory.

If you're a woman between 18 and 25 and you don't have an LTR of whatever depth you want, it's because you're holding out for a better option, or you want to have your fun first. If you're an attractive woman, you mean. I mean, if you just said "average or unattractive people of both sexes have to work to better themselves to be appealing" I wouldn't disagree with you. One of the problems I have with RP logic is that it assumes that all women have a magical source of men they can draw from, when…

Explore my sexuality???? Are you for real. Lol, yes, I'd love to explore how I'll gain so much if I open myself up to the vitriol in those images. Thanks but no thanks. You're literally saying that it's a-okay for men to hate women.

I have no problem with the idea in theory, or in specific situations. But what a lot of men on this sub do is extrapolate that to how they approach women in general, and that's the problem. "Treat her like a child" is a blanket term and that's why people have a problem with it.
/r/TheRedPill01/07/14 04:34 AM
7

He referred to women "throwing a fit", I responded with an example of men "throwing a fit". It's the same thing and I am using it to show that men are just as capable of acting childish as women are. Blanketing an entire gender with an assumption isn't a good idea.
/r/TheRedPill01/07/14 04:15 AM

The argument that is being discussed here is not "treat people who are acting childishly like they are children", it is "treat women like children". There is a huge difference. One is specific to a situation and behaviour, the other is infantilising a huge swath of the population.

why the stuff we're saying makes so much god damned sense. SOME of the stuff you're saying makes sense. If you throw enough shit at a wall eventually some is going to stick, doesn't mean that it's actually a good strategy.

This is silly. I've known men who have punched walls, sulked, yelled, stalked off, etc, etc. By that token according to you, I should blanket all men with the treatment of children. The generalisation shit is why this sub has a bad reputation. There are people who throw fits in both genders, women are not magically more childish than men.

I actually don't have much problem with RPW (except for some of the nastiness that I see directed at women who don't follow the philosophy). I don't see a lot of manipulation going on over there, in fact it truly seems more focused on self-improvement than TRP is. At it's best I think TRP can be a partnership between a man who wants to take charge and lead and be the best man he can be, and a woman who looks for that in a man and just identifies more strongly with traditional gender roles, doesn…

Please show me where in my comment I said that taking or leaving women is sexist? I didn't say that at all, I was talking about the attitude of "I will treat all women the same". Men on reddit frequently say that not all men should be treated the same, yet the other commenter was saying that it's fine to treat all women the same.
/r/TheRedPill01/07/14 01:08 AM

"Take charge and make decisions" =/= "treating women like people". Both men and women do judge by appearances, but that's not really related, IMO.
/r/TheRedPill30/06/14 11:55 PM
2

Have you seen some of the comments here? It's definitely applied unilaterally by some people, and that's what I'm referring to. But you should be getting to know the woman before applying that universally. I mean, you're suggesting that all women be treated the same and then you wonder why the rest of Reddit says TRP is sexist.
/r/TheRedPill30/06/14 11:35 PM
2

That's hardly unique to women. I've met plenty of men who have trouble deciding on things, but you don't see women going around saying that men can't and shouldn't be allowed to make decisions. Like, if you want to just pick a food, fine. If you just apply this to every single woman you meet without finding out what she's actually like then there's a problem.
/r/TheRedPill30/06/14 11:02 PM

There's a lot of stuff here that's manipulative and dirty, like the suggestions that men should hold their ability to leave over a woman's head all the time, that women should never be left to make decisions, that you need to treat them like children, etc, etc. Setting aside the emotionally abusive stuff, go and look at the imgur album that's floating around of the stuff that's been said here. There's a lot of misogynistic stuff that gets posted here.
/r/TheRedPill30/06/14 09:55 PM

There's a lot more to his post than that, he also points out how some of the stuff that's advocated here is downright emotionally abusive. A healthy part of any movement is recognising your fringe elements and avoiding them, not embracing it all without analysing it.

Did you even look at some of the pictures? 1 is asking why it's bad to hate women, 3 is saying that the only thing women have to offer are their tits/ass/holes, 4 is saying that sex is the only value women offer, 5 is a man saying he hates women, 6 is a post comparing women to dogs... I'm 6 posts in and five are completely misogynistic. Maybe if the mods here took care of some of this crap and started filtering it out the rest of Reddit wouldn't hate this sub.
