Because I've been working remote for 5 years. I'm tired of conducting life through video calls. I think there is benefit to in person discussions.

Yep, I know I'm not going to change her. I've decided to just smile through it all and have everything in place for when it really goes south without a chance for repair. We talked a bit today and I got the usual "I'm trying to make myself better." There's rarely ever a "Im trying to make this partnership better." I mentioned that and she just kind of got defensive. Not to sound cliche but I think there is a lot of truth to the idea that a lot of guys put the family and relationship before thems…

Sorry, even individual, no one has been responding. I'd prefer local

She made a big decision that feels like she is erasing the past we made together. It's part of her journey to self improvement but it's really because she is mad at her mom. It was a big decisi9n that affects the family though she doesn't see it that way. She never talked with me about it, just told me it was happening. I've felt like she doesn't actually care about my feelings in the relationship for a long time and this was just the thing that really broke the camels back. I've expressed that …

Appreciated. I think I mentioned elsewhere in the forum she has made a big change that is basically symbolically throwing away our past. She didn't talk with me at all about it. It totally flies in the face of "this is a partnership" and has completely broken my trust. I don't have to go along with it but that also means she isn't going to be happy with me. I put family first always where as it's constant "improving myself" with her. I do it because I love my kids and want the best for them. Mea…

Because no one has immediate availability. I've reached out to half a dozen couples therapists for us and 1 responded and can't see us until late next week. Also, if you use your employer sponsored Healthcare plan for a therapist, they can have access to the records. This is why a lot offer private pay option as well.

I've seen some things online stating that it is Hipaa but it could be used if a judge orders the Records but it was unlikely they would.

I didn't choose it but now it appears to be happening. We apparently can't talk about our issues unless we are in therapy. I think the most painful part is I reached out and she just doesn't even respond even though I've been there to support her for everything for 15+ years.

My wife is grey rocking me. Didn't even deny it when I called her out on it.

She thinks she is helping herself. She's never wrong in her mind. I reached out to an attorney today we meet on the 24th. We've got therapy on Wednesday but I don't know if I'm going to make it until then. I feel so hollow inside.

The last two days have been a whirlwind and I've accepted that divorce is the route. I've called suicide prevention line twice today. I made a last ditch effort at saying I wanted to talk tonight and she responded with we should wait until therapy. I'm done.

Reached out to my first attorney today and getting a consult lined up. I don't want to do this but this relationship is killing me. I go on Monday for an MRI and CT scan to figure out if the facial numbness and blood in my urine is all stress related or not.

I think our oldest knows something is up. She's been exceptionally snappy lately. I'm definitely at fault for letting my unhappiness show through lately. I've spent so much time and effort with those kids, and I just can't seem to help them find anything they are passionate about. I'm trying to help them grow as people. Meanwhile, they go running to mom to get whatever they want. I have no clue if a divorce is the right way to go as i think I'll be happy to be free of her, but I'll not see my ki…

I was in the same spot today, started packing a bag. I couldn't handle the thought of not being around our 3 kids. They are what motivates me everyday and the only reason I'm still in this relationship. I can't trust her to raise the kids. I travel for work and will be gone for a week at a time and I come home and the house will just accumulate trash, dishes, laundry during that whole time. They will have eaten just spaghetti or mcdonalds every night. She's never going to be a happy person. She …

I've felt amazingly unappreciated lately and I think this is one of the things I fear if we do go the divorce route. I haven't said I want a divorce to her yet but it's weighed heavily on my mind for a year. I cherish my kids and I worry that she might turn them against me even though I do almost everything for them.

When we have one of these big arguments, she'll do housework for about 3 days and then just stops. And by housework, I mean cleans off the kitchen counter and loads the dishwasher and maybe makes a barebones dinner.

She grew up with her mom taking her shopping as a way to spend time together. They'd go to places like kohl's. She spent about $1000 on amazon and fast food. The rest is just random stuff. $100 for eyelashes, $200 for gym membership, $800 for random groceries that only she seems to ever use since I buy the majority of food that we eat. It's lots of small things that just add up over time. Zero investment or vacation.

Because it was fine with the first 2 and we things seemed to be good when we decided to have the third. The money thing was always present but not an issue like it has been for the past 3 to 4 years. It was always a manageable number preciously. Shortly after the 3rd, she went to graduate school to get her masters for her dream job. It has basically gone downhill since then. I've been extremely supportive in hopes that it would motivate her but nothing changes/clicks. She does therapy but all it…

I've tried to have her use a budget, I've limited spend on the joint credit card, I've had us do the Dave Ramsey course to help her realize she needs to budget. My experience is that when you really clamp down like limit access to money, people say it's abuse. I'm fine with canceling her cards if that's what it has to come to. How would you try and handle it.

I want to tell her this so badly but never could. I just have contempt for her at this point.

I had that happen. Was hospitalized for 3 days and she never even showed up and still has never given a good reason but she "feels bad" she didn't come. I get constant lip service about how she supports me and then does nothing.

Thank you for saying it. I'm sticking around for the kids, but man, it can be tough to paint on a smile every day.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
