Lol…not true. I love sex with a guy I’m super into. I’m NOT into pointless sex with guys I’m “kinda” into just to get my rocks off.

“All the best” is one of my most-hated phrases. It’s so passive aggressive and the person clearly never wants the best for you lol.

Yeah I can see where that would be the case. I would never expect to date a guy like that if I weren’t also in good shape, also educated, also making a good living, also have lots of friends, etc. Totally delusional for a woman to think she’s going to get a high-earning hottie if she isn’t also hot and socially connected. I can’t believe these women ACTUALLY think they have a shot???

I have already dated that man multiple times. I went to a highly ranked university, got a high paying job in a big city out of college, have a great social circle, and put a lot of effort into my personal appearance. It’s not hard to find or attract that man when you offer the same things he does.

This whole problem could be solved if working as a SAHM were compensated in some way, similar to a government job.

So according to you everyone in the world should be a factory worker? Who do you think creates the systems and infrastructure to sell the things others make in a factory?

Geez, bitter much? Obviously there’s more than one type of “overworked.” Yeah, most people in NYC aren’t doing prolonged physical labor. That doesn’t mean that our 16 hour (really) days aren’t full of emotional abuse, gaslighting, passive aggressiveness, impossible deadlines, etc. When I left my last job in nyc I went to four weeks of rehab after!! Deemed necessary by insurance as I’d developed a binge drinking issue, an eating disorder, and trauma.

No, because a friendship is a platonic interaction with no expectation of romance. I think it’s romantic when a guy buys me dinner, pays for the Uber, etc. it just makes me feel really special.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/07/23 06:57 AM
1

I like to use my money in other ways at the beginning of a relationship to make it more special than just a platonic interaction. I dress up, get my hair and nails done, etc. a few dates in maybe I’ll cook for the guy. I’ll bake him something special just because. I’ll tidy up his house. Call it sexist, whatever, it’s what works for me.

I’m just more traditional about these things. Not all women are. I typically like a more traditional guy who will be more masculine, take charge, etc. Totally get it’s not for everyone. It’s just what I’m attracted to. Also, I think it’s just polite to pay if you invite someone somewhere. If I invited the guy on the date I’d pay.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/07/23 06:24 AM

If I don’t like the guy and have zero plans to see him again, I offer to pay/split.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/07/23 06:23 AM

Not at all. I can afford to pay for myself. And for the guy, for that matter!! But if someone invites ME out, yeah, they should pay. Dynamic obviously changes if you’re in a relationship.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/07/23 06:18 AM

Okay, so stop paying for dates and see how your sex life dries up 😂 INSTANT turnoff if a guy invites me out on a first date and doesn’t offer to pay. Nothing in life is “free.” Everything is a transaction to some extent. No one is forcing you to play the game.

When I partied and dated a lot in NYC in my 20’s, sex “just happened” all the time for my social group. It was literally the topic at Sunday brunch. You don’t have to be doing “hard drugs” either. I don’t know ANYONE who did meth, coke yes but again that comes with the nyc social scene. Alcohol, obviously. There was definitely a lot of drinking. Mainly though I think when you get a group of young, attractive, overworked people together, sex can “just happen” pretty easily.

Nothing. He’s an amazing person, but I wasn’t mature enough to be married and he wasn’t in the right place mentally or financially. Aside from that, we had some fundamental incompatibilities. It was the worst breakup of my life. I wasn’t even a little bit okay for at least a year or two afterwards. But I knew it wasn’t right. I look back on him and our time together now with such warmth and fondness and I’m happy he’s found an amazing woman to be with.

Not to be conceited, but I would qualify myself as “very attractive” and accomplished. I live in a big city. When I was 23-25 I dated 6’4 MLB pitcher with a $90 million dollar contract. He cheated and I dumped him. He kept coming back to me for five years, attempting to cheat on his wife with me. After him I dated a former college D1 athlete turned hedge fund manager. We dated for three years and got engaged. I broke it off. After him I had a downward spiral and dated a (very handsome) “art deal…

I don’t know what to say other than, not everything in life is fair, and all you can control is yourself/your own self-improvement. I mean, what other solution is there?

Your short rich friend should consider lowering his standards or improving his personality. I have a great male friend is 5’5, 300+ lbs, and balding. Also rich. He’s married to a super cute woman who is shorter than him, and also chubby. They are both fun, outgoing people.

Obviously I’m not on Taylor’s level, but I’m a very successful unmarried woman in my early 30’s who is also conventionally attractive enough to have seriously dated several rich/famous men. What some posters here are saying is true. It’s hard for successful, attractive women to find guys on their level. There just aren’t many. For me personally, I keep achieving more and more (not bragging, just the truth) which allows me to “level up” into new social circles, and also spend more money on my app…
/r/PurplePillDebate27/06/23 05:15 AM

Yeah, hence the original argument: older men who prey on young women do so because it’s easy to trick young, inexperienced women into falling for their bullshit. When a woman is a bit older and more mature, she can see through the bullshit and no longer wants the manchild. Only victim in this scenario is the impressionable young woman. I feel sorry for my younger self.

Exactly lol, thank you.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/06/23 05:27 AM

My point was that I was too immature and inexperienced at 23 to see this man through an adult lens. Suddenly, I could see many flaws I hadn’t seen as a younger person.

I went out with a guy when I was 23 and he was 36. I was sooooo in awe of this guy’s worldliness, maturity, money, etc. He was getting a divorce so it never went anywhere. Seven years later we crossed paths again and went out again. It took seven years of me maturing to see this man for who he really was: a quite emotionally stunted man who never matured past 21ish, wasn’t a particularly good father, and was foolish with his money.

What a great answer. I totally agree that mandatory military service would be a fantastic start.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/06/23 04:39 AM

I totally get that and sympathize with it. You’re right, women are more supportive of each other. I guess the question then becomes, what are you going to do about it since you can’t become a woman? You’re stuck as a man, so how are you going to make the best of it? I’ll never look like Heidi Klum, I have uneven boobs, I’ve got love handles, and I’m generally louder than most “feminine” girls, which some guys don’t like. Because of these things, I don’t attract every man I like. But I’m working …

There’s lots of women who would value an average guy. The problem here seems to be that all those average guys want above-average women!!

Why can’t you make friends with other men via a sport, fraternity, or other organization? Beauty is the same thing as handsomeness, which apparently all the guys on here is the only thing that matters. As for resource acquisition, I have a graduate degree and own my own business. Nothing in my career or education suffered because I had a good social life. I swear, men can be suchhhh whiners. So full of excuses!

I’m speaking about this as a girl who had a major glow-up in college. Now, to be fair, I was never a “loser” and I’ve always been generally “normal” socially, but I certainly wasn’t super cute and I went through a lot of bullying/issues with girlfriends in middle and high school. I was absolutely not in the cool group, I didn’t play a sport, I never had dates to dances, etc. I never had a first kiss as a high schooler. In college I went far away where no one knew me, I scrubbed my social media, …

Being well-rounded is not that hard if you prioritize it. It simply takes a commitment to new habits, which, btw, “Chads” all do. Nothing is effortless.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/06/23 11:10 PM

I’ll admit that I’ve dated guys I NEVER would have because I was in a geographical setting with zero better options. At least for me, it is/was a thing.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/06/23 09:34 PM
2

What is your argument here, exactly? That educated women in a higher socioeconomic class should give a chance to uneducated poor guys? Why would that benefit the woman?
/r/PurplePillDebate21/06/23 03:01 AM

I think it just depends on the type of social circle you run in. I have a lot of “Chad” friends, I guess… But honestly, I wouldn’t ever know how many people the guys I’ve dated have slept with, as long as they know what they’re doing.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/06/23 06:42 PM

I’ve been engaged and in two other long term serious relationships. It never came up in any of those relationships. The type of guys I usually date have probably slept with many more people than I have!! Honestly, it’s immature to ask and just plain weird.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/06/23 05:29 PM

I’ve never once had a man I’ve dated ask me how people I’ve slept with. Do people seriously ask that? I feel like guys in this sub think people actually sit around talking about number of sexual partners. I literally haven’t had that conversation since college. Once you get past a certain age, mature adults just stop asking. The closest a guy would get to knowing is if we talked about past relationships. But even then, they’re not asking for a list lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/06/23 05:00 PM
1

I think it’s a pretty crazy stat, but having seen thousands and thousands of male dating profiles, conversations, and reports from my job, I’m not surprised. Many men are absolutely depraved. And if they’re not, they’re just not presenting (ie bad profile) well through the app.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/06/23 01:27 PM
2

Also, why would you ever want to do something you KNOW your partner doesn’t like? That is insanely masochistic and terrifying. Sex should be enjoyable for both people. Not that you care, but anal can be incredibly painful and can cause you to defecate all over the bed. There’s a reason a lot of women don’t like it.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/06/23 01:25 PM

This is why I only date men with sexual experience…so they don’t come with attitudes like this. No, I wouldn’t call him a disgusting pig. I would just say I’m not interested in doing that. A simple boundary. I’m not a blow up sex toy to “experiment on.” I’m a human being. The idea that I would get three years into a relationship with someone or have a child with them without having EXTENSIVE discussion about our sexual desires/needs is laughable. By that point I’d absolutely know if we’re compat…

If you don’t want to date me based on my sexual past, that’s fine. We are not compatible. I have to know, what is your relationship history/status?
/r/PurplePillDebate20/06/23 01:18 PM
2

Uh, no. Experiment all you want when you’re single. The second you commit to me, you’re not going outside the relationship for sex. If you don’t want to be in a committed relationship, that’s fine. But part of being is one is that you give up certain things if your partner doesn’t share the desire.

Lol what? How is that remotely the same? Also, what stuff did I get for free? I regretted it because I felt like I compromised my own morals and values and shared my body with someone who didn’t care about me as a person.

Personally I don’t think anyone should be forced to date anyone or give anyone a “chance.” Single mothers of all people should ONLY date who are interested in stepping up to the plate and being a good role model to the children. Single moms are a package deal. So yeah, please spare the single moms and don’t date them if you dont want to. I think the disconnect and annoyance from women comes from the perception that these whiny man-children act entitled to beautiful, competent women when they are…

Truuuuuth. Most men suck at sex which is why they don’t have women to have a bunch of partners. Too many dudes to compare them to! And yes, I can confirm that I’ve had AMAZING sex with “Chads.” Sorry not sorry lol.

Men aren’t obligated to do anything at all. Feel free to be celibate. Lots of women are! Just realize that if you’re not a great catch as a male, you might have to lower your standards. Just like I know I am probably not going to marry Tom Brady, my standards are appropriate and I am not waiting around for him.

It was just a stat I remember circulating around the office. I don’t remember where it came from.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/06/23 04:41 AM

Well, women provide different things. It’s a fact that even if both spouses are working, women still do 80% of the childcare/housekeeping/emotional labor. I guess some lame girls who don’t really bring anything to the table don’t have much room to complain or be picky, but IME (I worked at a dating app for six years) there are way more “together” women than men, which is where the frustration comes in.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/06/23 03:51 AM
2

Okay wait…so explain to me…what does your ideal woman/relationship look like? Tell me if I’m understanding this correctly: most guys just want a young hot girl who cooks/cleans/takes care of her man/the family, her education/intelligence/accomplishments don’t matter?
/r/PurplePillDebate20/06/23 03:49 AM

Sorry, I’m not familiar with the terminology!! What does AF/BB stand for? I actually think (if I’m recalling correctly) that it was actually 90/10…aka 90% of women going for 10% of guys. But it could be 80/20, I can’t fully remember.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/06/23 03:03 AM

Date down from what? From their own level? Men and women value different things. So yeah, a girl who is a 7 will date a guy who is a looks 5…if he also has money (just an example) or status, therefore making him a 7. Can you give an example using hypothetical people?

That top tier man bringing resources to the table, which makes him top tier: could be financial, an exciting lifestyle, other cool friends/a nice family to hang out with, access to cool stuff I’m also interested in…could be tall/handsome/strong (good genes), motivated, intelligent (went to a good school, is clearly hard-working)…I could go on and on. Also, I’m only coming at this question from my own perspective. I certainly don’t represent ALL women…but I probably represent the ones the guys on…

I am a woman and I worked at a top 3 dating app for six years. I know what I’m talking about. Yes, women are all going after the same top tier men. That’s a fact we know is true. But to say most women want casual sex with these men is wrong. Survey after survey indicated that women wanted relationships…with those top tier men. And, anecdotally, I don’t have any female friends (maybe my group is biased? I lived in a big city with lots of desirable single people) who came to brunch on sunday claim…

Okay, so what if the “negotiation” ends in the woman you’re with saying flat-out no? Then what happens? I’m honestly trying to be helpful here. If you want to have a successful relationship with a woman, you should consider, you know, listening to women who have been in successful relationships and are more experienced that you are.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/06/23 01:24 AM

I’m going to assume this is due to your age and/or immaturity… Your opinion is morally repugnant. I do not owe anyone anything sexually. Ever. No one does, for any reason. There are soooo many things I’ve “experimented with” that I have zero interest in repeating, including anal, sex in a public place, a threesome, making out with a girl in front of a partner, sex while high (I am off all substances)… People grow and change and along with it their preferences. They call it sexual experimentation…
/r/PurplePillDebate20/06/23 01:16 AM

Are you a virgin or very inexperienced? I tried anal once and hated it. Do I owe anal to my current partner?
/r/PurplePillDebate20/06/23 12:24 AM

/r/PurplePillDebate20/06/23 12:03 AM

Yeah, constantly being worried about our personal safety, getting sexually assaulted, and having to work twice as hard at our careers is really a comfortable society lol. I used to work at a dating app and I remember this study that said a man’s biggest fear on a dating app date was the woman being fat. The woman’s greatest fear was being murdered.

This is so hilarious to me. It’s as dumb as me saying that the Heidi Klums of the world are “hogging” all the alpha males. Who gives a fuck who are supermodel is married to? The bottom line is that I’m not tying myself to a man unless he ADDS something to my life financially, chemistry wise, companionship wise, etc. I make good money. I have great friends and family who satisfy my emotional needs. I can even have a child on my own. Explain to me why women are the problem and how exactly adding a…

Literally all of this. Girl, are you me?! I literally just wrote an almost identical comment!! Unfortunately the bottom line for average men here is that now that women are educated, making money, and have all the freedoms they were previously denied, we no longer have a need for “average” men who bring nothing to the table other than headaches and the annoyance of wanting their dick sucked. Unless I’m with a top tier guy who ADDS to my life, I’m staying single, and I’ll be damn happy about it!
/r/PurplePillDebate19/06/23 10:35 PM

Women will pick the highest value of the average men, every time. They will ALWAYS pick the best they can get, which is some combination of looks/earning power/chemistry.

Count me in the group of women who would settle for boxed wine and a vibe over a loser guy 😂 Guys on this sub seem to lack all understanding that most women can go MONTHS AND MAYBE EVEN YEARS without sex. What we crave is emotional connection with a high value male, which is much harder to come by. The reason most women have casual sex is to try and rope the guy into a more consistent thing that turns into a relationship…with a high value man. Sorry to all these below average dudes…at this point…
/r/PurplePillDebate19/06/23 10:31 PM

Dude are you serious!!! If you’re a guy and have a fuck buddy (in my world, I’ve only lived in big cities), you are 100% single…as evidenced by all the absolute fuckboys my friends and I “dated” in our 20’s, only to see them out on dates with other women!
/r/PurplePillDebate19/06/23 10:24 PM

Lol maybe some guys but the dudes I hang with call themselves single until they’re forced into a relationship with whoever holds out the longest in the hookup stage 😂

You’re wrong. I had a one night stand with an MLB player a few months ago. Hot AF! 6’4! I felt like shit after. It was enjoyable in the moment (the attention from a high status man) but the sex kinda sucked. He didn’t want to take me on any dates after that (duh) so overall the experience was negative and left me feeling humiliated and used. In retrospect I would NOT have done that for 30 mins of attention.

Haven’t read the responses yet so maybe I’m repeating someone else, but you are sooo wrong. Your numbered list is assuming the women want the same thing as men: sex/a hookup, which yeah, we can get that anytime. It’s failing to recognize that women want different things than men. We want an actual relationship with a high-quality person that is NOT BASED ON SEX. I can go months — years!! — without sex. In fact, I willingly will do so! Casual sex or sex with some loser isn’t worth it to me. Findi…

Ehhh, I don’t know…even if a guy is hot and tall, the second a girl picks up “off” vibes from a guy, she’s going to nope out if the “offness” makes her uncomfortable. Guys forget that girls need to feel emotionally as well as physically safe. For example, a friend of mine just had to report a guy to HR for flirting and making inappropriate advances via multiple social platforms, texting, etc. The guy could be a creep, but he might just be autistic. If it’s the latter I feel bad for the guy, but …
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/23 06:04 AM

As a woman, I’d rather be the short guy. I honestly don’t think there’s anything harder to overcome in relationships (platonic or romantic, male or female) than being “off,” no matter what the reason. It’s really heartbreaking. If I were an autistic person or someone with Asperger’s, I would try to find other people like me to be friends with and date, at least as my primary relationships. There are so many nuances in human connections that I would be worried I’d struggle with. I’d rather be rel…

Play money? Barf lol. I don’t know what it is about that term that grosses me out so much. I guess that it’s suggesting someone is dictating how much I can spend and how I should spend it. I really prefer having my own money, or having a husband who doesn’t say “okay, you get $500 this month, go wild.” Feels like a kid getting an allowance. I didn’t go to college and grad school to have someone dole out money for my online shopping 🙄

I mean, different strokes I guess? That arrangement doesn’t sound appealing to me. I get physically sick thinking about anyone telling me what I can and can’t do. Also, why mention that you’re on a first name basis with the delivery people? Are you asking them for intel on your wife’s purchases? Don’t really get your last point…are you saying you have or haven’t had success finding women who are cool with your preferences?

I’m trying to be open-minded here but WTF? Why does getting the vaccine have to be a unilateral decision? Ever heard of bodily autonomy? As far as major financial decisions…ummm no??? Those should be made jointly. No one should get a “final say,” otherwise what’s the point of even having a discussion? Have you found success in finding women who meet your criteria? If so, are you from a western country? I am really curious!!

Don’t you see something morally wrong with one human (of any gender) exerting control over another human? This is why societies in which the “man’s word is law” do not want an educated female populace. Just look at many Muslim countries.

Most of my girlfriends don’t hookup just to hookup. Most of us want it to turn into “more.” I think this is a big difference between men and women. We’re all participating in hookup culture with different desired outcomes, which leads to misunderstanding and hurt feelings. Personally my friends and I talk all the time about how to even get a boyfriend without sleeping with them semi-soon and being put in the hookup category. We’d all be happy to wait, but then we’re afraid the guy will just get …

What does “head of the household” mean to you, in practice? I generally want a more traditional man (not a stay at home dad, pays for dates with “our” money etc) but ONLY if he accepted my independence/choice to work if I want/make my own decisions.

No. It doesn’t bother me at all, as long as they’re clean. What happened in someone’s past is absolutely none of my business. I’ve never even asked any of the guys they’ve dated their exact number. I really don’t care. This may sound weird, but I’d rather be with a guy who has lots of experience than none.

If you’re rolling in a certain social circle 40+ isn’t weird. I know guys who have slept with 100+ women. Btw, most of my girlfriends (all good looking) have slept with 20+ people. Most are married.

Totally happy to leave it at having different values. I do take issue with you painting me as some crazy feminist though. I’m actually quite an old school, feminine woman…I just don’t like being controlled or told what to do.

I think there’s a lot of gray area between simply having a social media presence and posting “slutty” pictures. What counts as slutty in your mind? Would be curious to hear you describe it. Because I’ve posted bathing suit pics with other girls…is that slutty and attention-seeking?

…and I’d leave that relationship so fast you wouldn’t know what hit you! Emotional abuse and controlling your partner are forms of abuse, fyi. It’s not “shaming” language. You should consider therapy to understand why you feel such a desperate need to control the women in your life.

Making a “small sacrifice” for my husband is going to a restaurant he prefers on vacation, not cutting me off from an activity many people use to stay in touch with friends and family. Someone telling me I “can’t” do something is not going to fly. The guy is welcome to leave. This is why I’m so freaking happy I make my own money. I will never ever be trapped in a situation with some asshole who thinks he can tell me what I can and can’t do. BTW, not letting a woman have social media REEKS of ins…

Okay let me rephrase that. You sound abusive. If some man I was with banned me from doing ANYTHING I’d tell him to F off and go kick rocks lol. If you can’t even trust your adult partner enough to “allow” them to have social media, you clearly don’t trust your partner and have control issues that will probably escalate into more serious forms of abuse.

Women in New York are just “cooler” than women in SF in my experience. They’re more open-minded, spontaneous, creative, and free-spirited.

You sound controlling

This is correct. I don’t want a “gym bro” because I like to eat out, drink, take vacations where working out may not be an option, and not worry about calories 24/7. Someone who is meal prepping and prioritizing the gym over everything is not going to fit my lifestyle.

I’ve been so destroyed emotionally by both long term relationships and “situationships” that I got into the bad habit of engaging in hookup culture because it was easy and fun. I’m a woman btw. Afterwards I always feel clingy, used, and confused as to why the person doesn’t want more. Hookup culture has destroyed my self worth and I’m trying now to get better.

What does the n stand for? I know it means how many people have I had sex with? I’m gonna be the representative here for most good looking girls who live in big cities and went to fun colleges…I probably stopped counting around 10. Maybe 25? I’d have to go through my mental Rolodex. Btw this is not uncommon…

I think he has such severe stunted growth and trauma from growing up as a child star that any issues he has with women are understandable. Not necessarily excusable, but understandable. I’m a woman.

Lol. I’m a woman who has been lurking this sub for awhile because I think gender dynamics are interesting. I would never ever post my picture online. That being said, I’m no girl on the left, but I’d say a solid 8.

This is a really interesting answer, thank you. What I find most interesting is that I know exactly what you’re talking about, but from the female perspective. I did everything “right” — I was always the “good girl.” I never had sex outside of a relationship, I never drank too much or did drugs, I was basically that girl every guy claims to want. Then my “good girl” act didn’t work with my first love, and he dumped me for an older, more experienced, wilder woman. They got married a year later. I…
