For what it’s worth- 20yrs ago going through a separation I got full custody of my daughter reading statutes and finding forms myself. Wrapped it all up in 60days. Judge signed it 3 mos later on my birthday

If you’re ever in couples therapy and they’re taking sides outside of obvious abuse. That’s a bad therapist Also the point of therapy before problems is to have a routine in place so that when they arise you aren’t trying to scramble to do something about it - or waiting too long to resolve something. I’ve looked into Portugal. With military retirement if you can prove 12k annual passive income. You can get a 5 year visa. After that you can apply for EU citizenship and live anywhere in the eu. Cost of living is pretty cheap there. You’re right about remote American jobs - but there’s contact work and plenty of English speaking opportunities. Good luck man
