| 1 | How to handle a stepdadFor what it’s worth here is my experience. After parents got divorced and mom got remarried I was in a similar boat as you (minus the property stuff). Didn’t respect his authority, didn’t listen to him, etc. As the years went on and I got married and had kids I found myself reciting the same things to my kids that my step father used to hound me about (ie. turn the lights off when you leave a room and shit like that). | 1 | How to remain stoic after finding out about rare health condition?Usually the surgery is not close to that long. He is doing much better. He was always very active (ex bodybuilder and high school hockey ref) and should be able to be active again early next year. | /r/askTRP | 11/12/17 05:58 PM |
| 5 | How to remain stoic after finding out about rare health condition?Anecdotal story but my brother in law just had the surgery a month ago. His doctor said his was the worst case she had ever seen and the surgery took 10 hours. Was home in a couple days. Slow recovery but he’s doing great. Able to walk around the neighborhood already, hearing starting to come back (he had lost it in one ear), headaches going away, and short term memory back again. It’s tough but you’ll get through. Best of luck man! | /r/askTRP | 11/12/17 05:30 PM |
