No no no, this is a great example of taking something personally when it shouldn't be. What I'm explaining is that (believe it or not!) some women flat out despise texting- no matter how much they enjoy talking to the person on the other end. Texting is time consuming and doesn't always lead to the type of conversation that happens in person or even over a telephone call, so why bother? But if you tell someone, "hey I don't like texting" they might do exactly like you just did and make an ASSUMP…

She's just busy or she doesn't really like texting and is too polite to tell you. Odds are she really likes you if she keeps responding and the texts aren't short. If/when yall meet in person, pay attention to how much she looks at her phone. If she hardly touches it, safe to say she's just not really all into her phone like that. I know I'm not. I'll do my best to respond to someone I like, but at the end of the day, id rather just talk face to face and avoid the whole texting thing.

This is exactly why I'm currently making more friends that are girls. That way we can all go out together with said guys. Then those guys can't expect the sex and we all still get to have a good time.

Finally blocked my ex on Christmas as a gift to myself lol

Exactly ! some people (LVMs) will never have the capacity to appreciate another person as they are

I’m a newbie here myself, so just this year I’ve learned HVM vs LVM. I’ve known this guy 8 years and we’ve talked about everything under the sun and everything seemed copacetic. We just started to consider dating each other this year. What are some good hard questions to ask on a first date, for future reference?

Oh wow !! Great points! Love how you broke it down for me in a way that makes obvious sense (:

Yess ! And I am so proud of myself. If I would have gotten that message last year, my heart would’ve been broken and I’d be trying to please this man/get him to accept me. With my therapist and yalls encouragement, I have the clarity to see that men like this aren’t worth dating.

Yess I just posted his reply in the comments to when I screenshotted him all the stuff we said. Now he’s like “oh i have all these beautiful women who are educated that want to date me. I really wanted to help you but now I don’t” pssshhh gtfo those ladies are too smart to deal w his toxicity too

I screenshotted all our responses and he blocked me but sent me this first: I'm glad it only took a week to see you in action. I have girls with PhD's and masters degree and very beautiful ringing my phone wanting to date me. I really wanted to help you anyway I guess you don't need any help, you have the world on your feet!!

It was me telling him that 3 times a week is the most I can socialize/hang out w people before I start feeling drained.

By “all of the above” he was referring to the flight dates out of the country which magically changed from Nov 27 to Sept 17 after I missed one of his phone calls. Idk what he means about the rebellious thing to be honest.

Way to be a clown right ?! I’m sure he thinks there’s nothing wrong w “testing people”. Not my problem now though ! I’ve been wondering why a “great guy” like him has been single for so long and now I know.

Oh yea !! That’s very helpful. I watched a lot of videos about spotting narcissists - my ex is one. And it’s absolutely true, everything is fine and dandy until you start setting boundaries and not being a door mat.

When I would talk about issues my friends had w their boyfriends, he’d actually be reasonable and give good advice. He’s the type to plan dates and bring gifts for no reason. Treat everyone in public with respect - no issues w mom or dad. Guess when it comes to romantic relationships, he’s someone completely different

He’s been a “friend” for 8 years. I hate to end a long friendship, but I think it’s justified here.

Testing does not belong in a healthy relationship.

Yes, apparently three times a week is “too formal”. He’d prefer to have access to me 24/7.

Only weirdos !! And it makes me sad (for other people) because this guy is going to be wealthy soon and overseeing businesses. I don’t want someone like him in power.

He told me yesterday “oh I can’t talk to you for a month because I have to figure out my visa”. Two hours later he said “I booked a flight out of town for November 27” ... then when I turned off my phone, I had a missed call from him and a message saying “I Changed the date to Sept 17”. So all I replied was “Wow so soon! Hope you a safe flight”. Since I didn’t kiss his feet and beg him not to go, he says I “failed the test” 🤮

Uhoh! I found it on Instagram and just screen shotted it, figured the name on the top was who wrote it. Glad we have the original author now! (:

I (26/f) just got out of a super shitty, abusive relationship that culminated in the guy sleeping with a someone else - then trying to lie to me about it of course until the other woman provided me with very explicit screen shots. His reply to my evidence and the situation, literally was a text that said: “oh well!” Wish I would’ve spent the majority of my twenties following this advice! I’m free now though and have a plan! All this to say: if your gut tells you something is wrong, don’t ignore …

To be fair, I don’t even respond to texts in 24 hours. Not even to my very best friends. This is because I am busy and have a life (and sometimes I am an anxious person that needs a lot of me time), not because I don’t value them. At least give them 48 hours.
