| 1 | My ex has a support group, a therapist, and her friends. I have... my dog. Why is this so gendered?Whatever you gotta tell yourself, but your post history says otherwise as well as the fact that a secure person wouldn’t feel the need to comment on this or everything that you do comment/ post about. The entire red pill vs blue pill is a load of bullshit. It’s from The Matrix, a movie lol, and none of you are “seeing beyond the matrix” by being chauvinists who are always “evaluating the power dynamics of relationships”. | /r/Divorce_Men | 26/03/26 01:30 AM |
| 2 | My ex has a support group, a therapist, and her friends. I have... my dog. Why is this so gendered?Red pill crap is toxic bullshit that is just an excuse to feel bad for yourself and defend insecurities and a terrible personality. Stop victimizing yourself. | /r/Divorce_Men | 25/03/26 02:01 AM |
| 1 | The dog“Last night he started panting unusually but whatever”, OP is completely flippant in regards to his dog. Every wish? I didn’t say that at all and it’s about the dog; get your straw man argument bs out of here. | /r/Divorce_Men | 12/01/26 02:21 PM |
| 1 | The doglol, you think because it’s the “family dog” that the son should pay for a vet visit? Haha, a 9 year old can’t own an animal so the parents that actually adopted the dog are responsible for the dog they adopted. He also said he didn’t want to, NOT that he had a plan to take the dog if the dog didn’t get better so to us and OP’s son, he doesn’t care about the dog. | /r/Divorce_Men | 12/01/26 12:59 PM |
| 3 | The dogHe didn’t mention that in the OP, which is why it’s called an edit. It’s also not the son’s dog. | /r/Divorce_Men | 12/01/26 02:16 AM |
| -4 | The dogSo because he’s 19 he’s not allowed to have feelings? Pretty much his entire world is being ripped apart with this divorce and the dog is the one constant in his life right now. His son is experiencing anxiety. It’s this kind of callousness and disregard for his feelings that’ll have his son hating him in the future. | /r/Divorce_Men | 12/01/26 01:19 AM |
| -4 | The dogYou don’t sound like you care about YOUR dog. You also completely invalidated your son’s emotions. He’s going through the divorce, arguably has it worse than you, and you’re getting pissed at him for caring about the dog. It sounds like you need to grow up and communicate and LISTEN to your son instead of looking to have your inaction be validated by this sub. | /r/Divorce_Men | 11/01/26 10:58 PM |
| 3 | Stock market Loss, she filed for DivorceI agree, but I will add another reason is financial infidelity. His wife may have known about some initial money he was investing, but it sounds like he then went all in when she may not have been aware of the degree in which he invested their savings. | /r/Divorce_Men | 19/05/25 11:47 AM |
| -2 | Divorce due to Religious differencesIt’s insulting to say that you should treat your wife as an equal? Dude, you need a reality check. She’s not your property. And why is your faith so threatened by someone stating their own beliefs? Is your faith really that shake able? | /r/Divorce_Men | 24/03/25 02:27 AM |
| -4 | Divorce due to Religious differencesI mean it’s not the 1960s anymore. I think you’re thinking it’s the religious aspect, but it’s more so that you’re not treating her like an equal. The “traditional masculinity” and “traditional gender assignment” thinking is misogynistic and antiquated. Also, you’re atheist for 30 years and then are now devotedly religious; it’s very interesting how someone (you) could be indoctrinated into a cult that quickly. | /r/Divorce_Men | 24/03/25 02:14 AM |
| 1 | How did I fuck up my life so badly & what to do next? Those are pretty much the signs of depression… but again, to focused on yourself to notice or even care. | /r/Divorce_Men | 10/10/24 02:44 AM |
| 1 | How did I fuck up my life so badly & what to do next?Or maybe he does all that because he’s depressed and you’re actually part of the reason he’s depressed 💁🏻♂️ | /r/Divorce_Men | 10/10/24 02:41 AM |
| 2 | How did I fuck up my life so badly & what to do next?Your entire post is about YOU and what YOU want. Nowhere did you even attempt to understand where you husband is coming from on the thoughts of kids or his battle with mortality. This makes you a stereotype of this sub. Maybe he does actually want kids, but realizes you’re narcissistic and doesn’t want kids with YOU. | /r/Divorce_Men | 09/10/24 05:16 PM |
| 17 | How did I fuck up my life so badly & what to do next? Not trying to invalidate you, but you’re the stereotypical woman that men in this subreddit are seeking refuge from. | /r/Divorce_Men | 09/10/24 10:58 AM |
| 1 | It’s not what you thinkAll of the things you mentioned have nothing to do with an imaginary “god” and completely miss what I said. Have a good day. | /r/Divorce_Men | 10/09/24 11:12 AM |
| 3 | It’s not what you thinkI agree with the commenter. The codependency on the partner/ spouse is replaced with a codependency on God. The only person you can truly be codependent on is yourself because that’s the only person who has been in the trenches with you. | /r/Divorce_Men | 06/09/24 12:01 PM |
| 7 | Wife says she wants a divorce because I sound like Donald TrumpThis is exactly what I thought. With how he wrote it out, I felt like I could actually hear him going off on some crazy tangents of conspiracies, devil worship, aliens, etc. all because of the word “bitch” was in a song. I do believe in aliens and SOME conspiracies, but they had nothing at all to do with the conversation at hand. And if I do talk about anything like conspiracies/ aliens with people, I TALK with them, not scream like a crazy person in their face. | /r/Divorce_Men | 01/02/24 04:12 PM |
| 2 | Question for menI think you would be suprised, like I was originally, that prenups aren’t all they’re cracked up to be in movies. I am not a lawyer by any means and each state can be different, but: prenups only protect assets you had before the marriage. In my state, Ohio, when going through a divorce, they separate property into “separate” and “marital” properties. Then, only the marital property is able to be divided during the divorce. So in this idea, a prenup is pointless. Then, since it only protects pre… | /r/Divorce_Men | 04/07/23 10:06 PM |
