What established feminist theories/literature/organizations/etc. endorse these views?

Your criticisms of feminism have already been articulated by many modern voices in the feminist movement (bell hooks, anyone?). This aside, how does the MRM help these people more so than feminism?

Why do you think I'm anti-male?

How does it not make sense?

Okay, I'll bite. The initial circumstances under which I became a feminist had to do with personal experiences regarding sexuality and abortion. For the sake of time, I won't go into details about those experiences but the bottom line is that they made the struggle for women's bodily autonomy (among other things) very real to me. My ideals are not limited to these topics, this is simply where my desire to become a feminist started. I understand that men have issues regarding these topics, too. H…

What do you think about promoting explicit consent before sexual activity?

I admit that I don't. At all.

I feel like sex work implies an explicit tie to some sort of sex industry that I don't think I have. I know a lot of sex workers make plenty of money but most of them aren't high income earning porn stars. The vast majority of sex workers are prostitutes, dancers, etc, and they tend to have a rough entrance like financial strain into their work.

I meant "patriarchy" in the context of feminist discourse and otherwise. I've mostly heard it used in the context of men having a disproportionate amount of social, political, and economic power relative to women.

I am familiar with the concept, yes. However, I don't specifically look for rich men to date and I don't plan on marrying a rich man. I don't establish emotional connections that way. My boyfriend comes from a lower class family and I use a lot of my money in our relationship (dinners, going out, etc etc). I accept all of the consequences that come with being a "sugar baby." I understand that being a relatively attractive woman has given me opportunities that I would never have been given otherw…

No. This isn't my only source of income and I don't have to deal with the politics that most sex workers face.

May I ask what you mean by "the equivalent of feminists back in the day"?

If you have anything to say about my user name, please say it. Considering my first comment in this subreddit had to do with my user name, you can count on the fact that I'm very open about it. EDIT: There are too many comments about my user name for me to respond to all of them individually but I'll try to give a cohesive answer here that addresses most of them. I essentially get paid to be someone's girlfriend. That includes dinners, going out to events, constant contact for those wanting a mo…

We don't discuss it in a men vs. women manner. We live in Texas so most of our discussion has to do with the increasing number of restrictions placed on getting an abortion and the attacks on Planned Parenthood in this state. We feel as though women being able to legally have an abortion means nothing if access is restricted at every turn.

Could you clarify your first question? I'm not sure I understand what you're asking. Honestly, we - my group specifically - don't talk much about false rape accusations. A lot of our focus, time, and energy goes towards abortion issues and trans* issues.

Thank you for taking the time to answer my questions. If there are any specific links, data, etc that are associated with any of your points could you share them with me?

I asked these questions in a specific thread to get cohesive and (preferably) lengthy answers. There are many comments I have seen that address my questions but they are usually short (because they already have context) and made by several different people. Also, people tend to speak differently when they know they are dealing with someone who is unfamiliar with their viewpoints. Does that make sense?

I don't believe so. Are there statistics that adequately incorporate envelopment in their numbers? We usually discuss campus rape, rape in the military, statutory rape, and prison rape separately because there are broader issues associated with each one.

It's kinda difficult to be converted to an ideology when I've never had a conversation in person with someone who believes in it.

Feminist lurker here (though I have posted two comments here before). I would love to have open discussions with the people of this subreddit. I just don't want to be the only feminist here because I get the feeling a one-on-one conversation may break down into 7 different MRAs coming at me all at once.

Yes, I know I would receive a lot of judgement if everyone knew what I was doing. Despite what I've been conditioned to believe, I don't think my sexuality is sacred or special. If I enjoy sex and can get paid for it, then why not?

At the risk of being completely torn apart in this thread, I'm one of these college sugar babies (not from that state, though). I don't know what to say other than I do it because I like older men, I like sex, and I like the stability that the "allowance" gives me. *Note that I barely made this account because I lurk this subreddit and I didn't want to use my other account that I've had for awhile.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
