Recently a woman even got gang raped for trying to file a divorce.. By her husband, the lawyer, the lawyer's assistant and her husband's brother in law. Sure. You believe whatever you want. Instead of fixing the justice system and enforcing existing laws (and plenty of laws exist already to prevent rapes, sexual harassment, molestation, etc.) the government is trying to pass laws which are a recipe for abuse. Most such gender-specific laws in India are misused by urban educated women wanting to settle scores. A poor woman (or a man, for that matter) is generally beaten or laughed out of the police station, no matter which laws she/he cites. That will take a few centuries to fix, so…
