Not illegal in USA or apparently in other countries to take a DNA test or view the results. However it may not be admissible evidence in your country. Just make sure the sample is collected and tested in a manner which is admissible as court evidence. There are for information only test, which are cheap, and then there are the more expensive tests that are admissible as evidence of the court (USA).
