71	How the media reports female child rapists. statutory rape is still rape, it exists because underage kids are not capable of making good decisions in regards to sexual relationships. I think that's part of why it exists. A minor has a very different legal standing than an adult. As citizens, minors have abridged rights, and this can create a number of compromising power dynamics if they're being coerced by an adult.
