Yeah I guess I never really thought my inactivity could come off as rejection. I'm sure that can apply to other aspects of the relationship as well. I'll have to keep this in mind.

Sorry, I should be more clear with the background. We met in college. We didn't live together but we went to school together and worked together. He then left to join the marine corps and we then began our relationship as more than friends. We may do some vetting, but it depends on the marine corps and the housing situation that is set up for us. And yeah I think you're right. Being more active was definitely my the way to go. I guess I just wasn't in the mood at the time.
