"Buddy films", at least through feminist film theory, have had countless analysis imbued with homoeroticism. Laura Mulvey, in one the most influential essays of feminist film studies, "Visual Pleasure and Narrative Cinema" mentions this. "A recent tendency in narrative film has been to dispense with this problem altogether, hence the development of what Molly Haskett has called the "buddy movie" in which the active homosexual eroticism of the central male figures can carry the story without dist…

The funny thing about meeting a new person, especially a potential love interest, is that we are both excited and apprehensive of what the future holds. I agree with PhantomDream09 to enjoy the journey of getting to know a new person. I find myself in a similar situation. I met a new guy, we have exchanged numbers, and have hung out twice. I have only known him for a month, but I have had the same thoughts about how these things "should" go, rather than how they are going. What I learned is that…

Witnessing the relationship between my parents, I can see the problems of parents who no longer try to take care of each other first. My sisters and I still live at home, although we are in our 20s, but there will come a time when we leave. My parents rarely spend any time with each other as a couple, having good times, going on dates, etc. I worry a lot about how they will handle being alone together, and if they will fall into the "Empty Nest" syndrome.

It sounds like you know what you should do. Drop this chick. If she does continue to disrespect you in the classroom, maintain frame and don't let her snide comments take up too much of your attention.

If you can't drive around, just stick to campus. I am sure there is coffee place in your school. Or if there is some sort of garden in your school, you can take her there to walk.

While I understand injecting humor into a social discussion can lead to effective, thought provoking satire, this did not reach that level for me. I thought the way in which the rape statistics (though bogus) were mentioned lacked seriousness and reeked of fake sentimentality. This video does have a positive aspect: I learned how foolish one looks if you excessively head bob and finger wag. I would like to post this on (r/cringe) but, honestly, I fear the backlash.

I don't know much about the Andrew's Sisters, but their message was pretty clear in song. But these feminist sisters completely missed the point. Since when it is a backwards notion to be loyal to your military partner while he's away?

Pretty sound advice. I am a bit confused about their views on physical affection. Would a man feel emasculated if one were to touch him in that manner?

I suggest you stop fishing for attention if you aren't going to escalate with these girls. Step up your game and go after those dimes. I am curious though, what were some of the things you did around girls you attracted but felt nothing for? I am starting to think I was caught in the opposite end of this situation, but would like to identify this type of behavior sooner so as to not waste my time.

I dig the Brave New World reference! But, going back to the issue at hand, I fear the way we are "progressing" as a society. Why must the most natural thing in the world (baby making) get so complicated?

She has already told she isn't blaming you. She was drunk when she brought up how angry she was. I wouldn't think much of what a person says when they're drunk. You already apologized once, I don't think you should apologize again.

Period dash period. That is all she sent you. Find a girl who verbalizes her interest in you with actual words. Or, just for giggles, send her a bunch of semicolons and see how she reacts. Better yet, morse code that shit!

This is vile. People incorrectly claim TRP is sexist and gross, but this is a true example of backwards thinking.

I don't think there is anything inherently wrong with having male friends. However, I think those friendships work if both parties are fully aware that there is NO level of attraction between them and the emotional investment is best kept at a minimum. I have a male friend with whom I have lunch with on a regular period, but our interactions are casual and light. In high school, I was less level headed. I had a male friend that I became too comfortable with. My gratitude for all of his friendly,…

It may help to make a list of professional fields you definitely do NOT see yourself going into. Then think about the fields you didn't list and study those a bit more.

I understand. If you are that curious then buy the shoe lifts and see what happens. Experiment and get some results. At the end of the day you'll find out what works for you. Plus it can make a great field report!

Hello everyone! I am comewhatagain. I am 20 years old and currently attending college as an art student. I have been lurking both TPR and RPW over the summer, and finally joined reddit to contribute to this community. I am pretty inexperienced when it comes to the opposite sex and consider myself a plain Jane/Juana (I am Mexican American xD) I think a large part of why I come to read TPR/RPW is because I see the relationship between my parents and recognize I don't want the same dynamic for my f…

Either a) she is no longer interested or b) there really is someone else. If someone fits in either of those categories, I suggest you next her.

I agree. If on the slight chance she still some feelings for you after all this time, this will get her thinking she is "special" and she'll forget you rejected her advances before. Just ask (in person) and find out.

Don't bother with the shoe lifts. Being 5'5'' around us shorter ladies (I'm 4'11") is no problem.

They should just make one that says: "If you reading this...wait, why are you still reading this?"

That picture you posted is what I was envisioning too. How could anyone wearing that not know what they are showing off? Since this is a school-related issue and these girls are still underage, parents, especially fathers, should take control in shaping their children's modesty. School regulations help, but real values should be instilled at home.
