Yes, but you're dying on the hill of semantic specifics in an effort to avoid the all too common "gay = groomer" stereotype. A worthy battle to fight, but you're being hypocritical now in your treatment of the semantics of pedophiles.

Let's address the actions without making assumptions about entire groups. Then maybe stop referring to pedophilia as criminal behavior when there are many non-offending pedophiles in the world. You even said in an earlier comment that's it's a disorder. Not everyone with a disorder is going to commit a crime based on that disorder.

I will also add that women tend to be considered the taste makers/social influencers of the culture. If a man has a fringe hobby he's maybe weird or maybe unique, either way it's "his thing." But women are more likely to talk to their friends about it, try to get others involved, post on personal social media rather than anonymous subreddits. So in a sense they do have more of a spreading potential (no pun intended) for fringe hobbies

Orchestras and similar are very known for doing blind auditions. Even when I was in MIDDLE SCHOOL, our county honor band auditioned from around the corner of the listener to ensure no bias. Most of the listeners were directors at local schools so they were eliminating bias from teacher-student relationships I think, but I know high level symphonies do the same.

Maybe I was being a bit too absolute here. Really, it's that he feels he can't. And I guess I took his word for it with a bit too much gusto, but he seemed very genuinely bummed and it just broke my heart a little.

He is also something of an anxious worrier, but the fact that he had that concern still just sucks. Being a young woman, I've literally had strangers leave their kids with me while they step out for a smoke or whatever they do. It's happened countless times. Like, I don't know how to tell these parents "for all you know I could kidnap your child" without implying that I actually want to kidnap their child. I am afraid of what one misunderstanding could become in my life. God and yet I imagine if…

They already have this woman's DNA in the regular DNA databases that you are describing or imagining. What the commenter above you is, I believe, claiming is that a person should not have extra DNA that is added to these system simply because they reported being the victim of a crime. Regardless of gender, your reporting of a crime should not impact your likelihood to be arrested in the future.
