Colorado is 50% of the higher earning spouse gross less 40% of the lower earning spouse gross, in addition to child support. It was passed in 2013 at the behest of women's groups.

Isn't the alimony situation in Texas very favorable?
/r/MensRights18/07/18 09:57 PM

Yup, and if you're already married the only winning move is to do as you please, live for you and dare her to do something about it.

It means do something that's not in your best interest for the good of the person telling you to do so.

HRC and a ridiculous co-worker. I'm so thankful for the latter. I'd never be where I am were it not for her running her mouth.

This is a great post. Thank you for being an egalitarian. It's a great time to be vocal about this stuff because people are waking up. Call these people out at the office, in social situations and wherever possible. Use their own vernacular on them, turn the tables on the conversation. "Toxic masculinity" is a derogatory and sexist term, tell them to get woke.

How about not yelling at me or making backhanded comments for a day? Oh wait, from kids.. yeah, handmade cards, 9 holes of golf, that would be great!

She says fair divorce now, she may not in the future. Moving out prior to settlement was a huge mistake, but if she actually does agree to 50/50 you're so far ahead of the game compared to most. "Is he going to be my dad now" is a bitter pill to swallow. 50/50 is hugely important. You need a lawyer or something in writing from her immediately, and even then you need a lawyer to look at it.

Google: "NOW call to action fathers rights groups" and you will see how long this has been the official stance of mainstream feminism.

Feminist groups fight family court reform.
/r/MensRights09/06/18 08:54 PM

As a side note. Flip the script on these people. Call their behavior "problematic" and "toxic". Go ahead, use these words on them. Get terms like "toxic masculinity" banned at your workplace because they are sexist. They hate this. They hate it so much.
/r/MensRights08/06/18 03:50 PM

It is everyone's individual duty to stop this kind of ranting in their own workplace. This is a grassroots level issue. Spewing feminist talking points and using phrases like "toxic masculinity" have no place in the workplace. You can flip the script on these people, stuff like this is blatantly sexist. You can win on this.

This would be like if the MRM harped on Big Red all of the time instead of focusing on the actual policy and court issues. It's not a few bad apples ruining it, it's feminists.

You're the one who said that you're against shared parenting legislation.
/r/MensRights05/06/18 09:13 PM

Call it whatever you want. You're a bigot.
/r/MensRights05/06/18 09:00 PM
1

Why? Getting married shouldn't be a contract to provide for an ADULT for their lifetime. Things don't work out, why do I owe you anything? I get child support and have no problem with it as long as custody is 50/50 (assuming that's what both parties want), but alimony is essentially indentured servitude.
/r/MensRights05/06/18 08:54 PM
1

These aren't gendered issues. They benefit both. I'd add that, absent abuse, kids NEED BOTH PARENTS IN THEIR LIVES IN EQUAL QUANTITIES, and this should be legislated. But you're against this, because you're a chauvinist bigot.
/r/MensRights05/06/18 08:52 PM

Alimony is legal theft and should be outlawed. Fix alimony by outlawing it.
/r/MensRights05/06/18 08:49 PM

Oh, I see, virtue signaling. We have provided detailed evidence of how feminism is a hate-based supremacist movement. If you want to call it this then that's your prerogative.

I'd propose that women go after the dirty and technical jobs that pay more. You know, like trash collection, sewage, engineering, law, accounting. Go look at career choices aggregated by gender. You may be surprised. Edit: I'd love to see more construction workers.
/r/MensRights05/06/18 08:36 PM

What do you propose?
/r/MensRights05/06/18 08:31 PM

Wow, no response from the feminist. Shocking.
/r/MensRights05/06/18 08:10 PM

And go read the 1997 proclamation again you idiot. Their opposition to shared parenting is rooted in chauvinism. You really are clueless aren't you. Why are you even here (other than to make a fool out of yourself)?

I'm so hurt. Let me run off to my safe space.
/r/MensRights05/06/18 08:01 PM

So you agree that the "wage gap" is because men work more? Ahhh, now we're getting somewhere.
/r/MensRights05/06/18 07:59 PM

If you oppose this legislation you're a chauvinist. Period.
/r/MensRights05/06/18 07:57 PM

And you can start with Florida. The most egregious case where they've successfully fought to keep LIFETIME ALIMONY. Or go to Colorado, in 2013, which implemented statutory alimony formulas. There's a Denver Post article you can google.
/r/MensRights05/06/18 07:52 PM

This has remained their policy. Go look at who has opposed every piece of shared parenting legislation. It's the BAR association and women's groups (including NOW). You people aren't worth having a discussion with because you habitually run from the truth.
/r/MensRights05/06/18 07:50 PM

With all due respect, maybe we should finish our discussion on NOW opposing family court reform before we move on to our problematic gendered DV law.

If you'd like to engage in a discussion on the damage that has been done by the Duluth Model or VAWA we can go there too.

Let's start with this: NOW ACTION ALERT ON "FATHERS' RIGHTS" WHEREAS organizations advocating "fathers' rights", whose members consist of non-custodial parents, their attorneys and their allies, are a growing force in our country; and WHEREAS the objectives of these groups are to increase restrictions and limits on custodial parents' rights and to decrease child support obligations of non-custodial parents by using the abuse of power in order to control in the same fashion as do batterers; and W…

Let me guess: you think the courts are slanted because "patriarchy hurts men too" and haven't performed the requisite research that would lead you to conclude that these systemic biases have been established and continue to be fought for by feminist groups (and the BAR association)? Edit: this is the appeal of feminism, it's an intellectually lazy person's dogma.

Where do you stand on family court reform? Duluth/VAWA?
/r/MensRights05/06/18 06:03 PM

OK, so the tender years' doctrine, alimony, VAWA, Duluth Model, prohibition, the gutting of Barry O's infrastructure program, Dear Colleague never happened. I would love to join you on planet happy delusion but just can't. Ugh.

Update. R/dating is great. They won't ban you and the clowns will talk in incoherent circles for as long as you want to keep them going. I got accused of beating my wife and not wanting rape investigated all in one afternoon!

OP has a point but much of this is biological and can be dealt with on an individual basis. He is, however, missing some key points that have at times been touched on in this thread. All of these are the result of behind the scenes work of the feminist movement. These are facts, not misogyny: 1.) Family courts. It is fact that our family courts heavily favor women. If one researches the history of this they will find that this has been heavily shaped by feminism. This isn't just the back history…

I'm no lawyer but in my state it's dependent on living together for a certain period of time. This is insane, of course, but flipping the script and using it to one's advantage when possible is paramount to fighting these types.

True Men's rights isn't about male superiority you idiot. It's about court reform, fighting a system where I could go to jail and have a record for defending myself from a drunk and violent wife, things like this. You know, equality. I'm so glad that the mods here don't go all r/feminism and ban people like you outright. Your posts speak volumes.

Yeah you've got stronger bits but it does paint a picture. Look into common law marriage, and if you can swing it I'd have your lawyer in court with you. That's what I meant, I saw that you have a lawyer.
/r/MensRights15/05/18 03:30 PM

You need a lawyer. How are you not going after alimony? Who gives a shit about weed, who gives a shit about the empty bottle, how old was it anyway? People are allowed to drink and smoke**. The pills are another thing, if you had evidence of this (photo maybe) it could probably make a huge difference. Leaving pills around is reckless. You have some good evidence, why aren't you going for max alimony here? Every man in your situation needs to do this, the hate-based supremacist special interest g…

I'm writing in for Jesse Ventura every four years until he's dead.
/r/MensRights25/04/18 06:10 PM

It's actually quite the opposite. Long term alimony, and a crooked family court system tilt the power to the non-primary breadwinner (usually the woman). Don't do what I want or don't like it? I can take half of not only what you're worth but half or more of your FUTURE earnings. If somebody could explain to me how 1.) this isn't indentured servitude and 2.) how this doesn't contribute to "I'll ask the boss" and "happy wife, happy life" culture that would be great. I've asked a couple of feminis…

Jesus christ, semantics. We need to be more polished as a movement, there are grammatical and spelling errors all over the place. We sound like a bunch of backwater hicks sometimes. Just saying.

This also ran in today's Denver Post. The comments are telling.
/r/MensRights12/12/17 03:40 PM

OK, I stand corrected. In Texas it's very difficult to be awarded alimony. In Georgia, if you can prove adultery alimony will be barred. It's not perfect but it's a start.
/r/MensRights06/12/17 02:02 PM

Well not countries but Texas and Georgia have no alimony, so that's a start.

I clearly agree with you, but Senator Al apparently doesn't, even for himself.
/r/MensRights16/11/17 09:14 PM

The whole thing was kind of tongue in cheek, and meant to point out the hypocrisy. See my reply above regarding Al's own philosophy that he isn't worthy of due process.
/r/MensRights16/11/17 07:48 PM

Hey that would be a start. Or teaching women not to steal from their ex husbands via the courts, or teaching women not to initiate inter-partner violence, or teaching women not to alienate their children from their fathers. So much to teach..
/r/MensRights16/11/17 07:24 PM

So he admitted what's shown in the picture, said he didn't recall the rest, then spouted off about listening and believing women. So by your account, Al, we should assume that you're guilty based on an accusation? Interesting..

OK, so male feminists, and all of the damage that they do should be off limits because they have a dick? I guess that's one way to handle it. The point of egalitarianism is to process these things without regard to gender.
/r/MensRights16/11/17 07:15 PM

So, in his apology, he admits to the picture (clearly has to), but says he "doesn't recall" the skit or rehearsal to the skit. He then spouts off about "listen and believe" so he essentially tells us that, while he doesn't remember it, we need to believe the woman point blank. Interesting. I think he's a weasel, much like most if not all politicians on both sides of the aisle.

I don't think you really read what I write, and just want to feel good/superior about yourself. There's more to the move than hockey, specifically schools. There's also a vast COL difference and an overgrown crowded metro that we're sick of. I don't spout gender politics to my kid,and I don't think he'll end up in the NHL. You've painted me into a box as far as what you want to believe, and that's fine. Edit: you keep making this about skill and Earl Woods and whatever. Did you ever think that "…

It's not that he's feminized by four hours playing with girls, I'd just like for it to be a sanctuary for him if he ends up wanting it that way. The association offers girls that experience if they so choose. That's discrimination. It is marketing, and to grow the sport but I think handling it this way is wrong. Am I going to fight it? God no. I voiced my opinion, much as a mom voiced her desire for an all girl mite team. Every association here runs some variation of the same thing. My option is…

Wow. I don't really care about talent in this case, and had you read my post you'd know that he's a mite, so teams (beyond overall grouping) aren't determined by skill. My points are twofold: 1.) Given the feminization of our society and all of the male shaming that goes on, I'd like him to have SOME part of his week where he is socializing just with other boys. I don't think that this is mysoginistic, i just want him to have some boy time. 2.) The girls, beyond mites, are given the choice of co…
