Honestly in the immediate term I would give her a specific amount of discretionary income every paycheck that is hers, and is predictable and in that conversation tell her that you expect her to stop using those reddits.

So men are only required to lay down their lives for women when women need protection and as long as that isn't happening right now then there is no double standard?

I think you assume far too much from my response. I'm not opposed to heroism I'm just not going to be quiet when someone says there is no evidence of a double standard in terms of expectations about it. I also think that the title of this post tends towards a trad-con notion of gender roles that I'm pretty uncomfortable with. Also heroism must be voluntary, when acting for the good of others against your own will isn't voluntary it isn't heroism it is oppression. My feelings about the post are a…

Women are statistically underrepresented in professions where saving someone comes at the expense of physical risk to the hero and this absolutely has to do with traditional gender roles which can be seen reflected in the title of this post.

So I would say that while some people definitely fit into these categories it isn't clear that people tend in general to fit into one or the other. My grandfather was a fighter pilot. He was dangerous muscular and exciting but not rebellious or tattooed. He was stable but not very loving. Being rebellious, being adventurous, being physically fit and being loving are not correlated from what I have seen. Mark Twain was rebellious adventurous and deeply in love with his wife although I have never …

If you are interested in evolutionary biology I would recommend Robert Sapolsky this one is on the effect of culture in apes. The issue isn't really that evolutionary biology doesn't have examples of dominant male apes and competition and rape but rather that it also has parents that eat their children and animals that change gender and all sorts of other things that can't readily be applied to humans. You don't have to look at evolutionary biology to see that red pill strategies are not particu…

Try mindfullness meditation for anxiety, a good book for it is full catastrophe living by Jon Kabat-Zinn. It is long and I think he might have a shorter introduction if you just want to get started. For depression I would recommend "feeling good" by David D. Burns. He is the inventor of CBT and I have found the book pretty beneficial. Yeah, I think it is ok to perform a little as long as it doesn't compromise your core values. It's definitely an uneasy compromise trying to respect and love yourself for who you are and at the same time be willing to change parts of yourself to please someone else or society.

I wonder what her motivation was. She sounds really insecure but I don't know for sure because I don't know the situation all that well. Yeah for sure. I think a lot of people are quick to tell you do this or that and I think a lot of that is because you're a man they assume you have to make the world and if you were a woman they'd be a lot more sympathetic. I want you to know I hear you. It I'm a little confused about what you want because you say you don't want what to be promiscuous but you seem to be a little envious of her ability to be promiscuous.

No, most objections are not tests that can be passed through being manly. Most sane people aren't setting traps for people when it is easier and more reliable to just observe their responses to life which provides ample tests of their character. Masculinity is attractive to some people but it is only one element of someones character which might be found valuable.

In apes there are two breeding strategies, one in which men and women are the same size and one male breeds with one female, the other the male is much larger and one male breeds with many females (but the majority of males never mate). It has been shown that females tend to be sized efficiently for their environment as are males in monogamous species but males in tournament species (species where one male dominates breeding) are significantly larger than would be beneficial in the environment i…

From a historical perspective Odoacer overthrew Romulus Augustus to become the first king of italy around (476-493) and the catholic church proper didn't exist until the great schism in 1054. You might argue that the catholic church started with the alliance between Pope Leo III and Charlemange in 754 but either way it just isn't that simple. My model is one in which each trait has its market value and each partner is likely to find a partner similar (but ideally higher) than themselves in each trait. You can only minimally exchange one trait for another but when it does occur it tends to be heavily based on gender norms (ie rich guy pretty girl) also I find that those that ideologically embrace gender norms are more comfortable making those exchanges.

The intersection of feminist and trad-con values has been particularly hard on low status males. I don't think it is a problem with intersectional feminist theory but rather arises when you convert that into policy. I don't know why you have so little concern for the plight of impoverished men and women abroad who want to come here for a shot at a decent living

Since I don't have any of these characteristics and will never obtain them, I am forever unattractive and will never get any woman. The conclusion doesn't follow from the premises even if they are true. Never show any weakness or else you will eliminate all your chances immediately. This is untrue. Most of my experience with women indicates that they prefer a man who can be honest about their insecurities. I didn't realize it was such a hot issue I those circles. I studied biology and humans are in many ways like animals. It is not proven whether imprinting exists in humans or not. I was responding to the argument that it definitely doesn't exist. Imprinting is theorized to be the source of object based fetishes. I don't advocate for hurting children. Another way to say this is that men value beauty and youth more than women do. Because overall attractiveness should balance in a non polygamous society anything one sex values more will be compensated elsewhere. Another way to put it is men are more willing to sacrifice status for beauty in a partner.

There's absolutely zero evidence of some patriarchy that is trying to keep women out of STEM fields, so that's not the reason if that's what you're implying. Male and Female professors alike tend to rate identical applications with male names as being more competent. Also the best attempts at generating an adjusted income gap still show it persisting after all known factors are accounted for so while the adjusted wage gap is smaller its persistence is still a problem.

Feminism fails to be a good advocate for men. I know that theoretically it wants to be but the majority of it is by women for women or by women for men but on the subject of women. I do think that the ideologies that have grown to fill this need are really bad but the male suicide rate is through the roof, there is clearly an unmet need.

I think honest is the best thing you can be in a relationship. Being dishonest about your feelings begins an emotional separation that tends to grow into resentment. It's not an STD and you aren't obliged to tell her but don't hesitate to if it will help her understand your behavior or your feelings or even if not telling her starts to feel like a lie. You are falling victim to a classic cognitive distortion called discounting the good. Yes there are highly Machiavellian people and all people have some self serving nature but there is also love, kindness, heroism and self sacrifice. I think red pill teaches you to prey on girls with cluster b personality disorders, generalizes the traits of cluster b disorders to all women (which is easy to fall for if all the women that fall for you have personality disorders) and then attributes these behaviors to biology in a way that no one who studies human evolutionary behavioral biology (much less psychology) would ever view as reasonable. I remember a time when I wanted to run my numbers up. I don't know how valuable it was but I do…

"Because these results are based on cross-sectional data, a longitudinal explanation is precarious." If your concern is about biology this study isn't capable of confirming or denying that concern. Red pill hinges on the idea that biology is inflexible to social or ideological norms but that is an assumption that physiologists know to be untrue. Just because something is scientific doesn't mean that it is biological hence the existence of the social sciences. Many red pillers will doubt the vali…

One reason might be because a man trying to get with her while she is in a relationship is indicating that he holds very little regard for monogamy. If she wants loyalty she knows he is not a very good candidate. Now a more relevant question is if as you say she is better than you in every way will she leave you? Maybe. But maybe she doesn't think she is better than you in every way. She started a relationship for some reason. There are no guarantees that your partner will always love and be loy…

attractiveness matters but so does intelligence, kindness, wealth, confidence, shared interests, common beliefs. from an evolutionary psych perspective humans are about halfway between a tournament species in which males compete for harems and a pair bonded species in which monogamy prevails. Historically most societies have accepted polygamy however the vast majority of people in those societies have been pair bonded. But really that is of secondary importance to the fact that as humans our bel…

and right there you have the benefits of discussing the wage gap, a theroy about it's mechanism that could lead to its closure. which would be a good thing, and something that in no way detracts from mens issues and the need for them to be recognised by society.

That is accounted for in the adjusted wage and yet a gap persists. only 5-7% but If it was my $0.50 an hour I would still want it.

An unexplained wage gap between genders is a legitimate issue even if the cause is unknown. equality Is not a zero sum game if we can work together it will create a better would for all.

The adjusted wage gap is between 5-7% is not explainable in terms of labour or risk or jobchoice, and has persisted while the unadjusted wage gap has declined. It isn. 76 cents on the dollar, but it would piss me off.

Don't apologize for taking a women's studys class the need for equality is an inclusive topic. Building common ground and empathy is good. Don't begrudge feminist complaints out of hand the adjusted wage gap is a legitimate concern.

I think that just because the feminist movement has failed to adequately define the difference between a feminist and a misandrist does not mean that we should. It is bad pr for us to be railing against feminism, and failing to make this distinction helps those who are sexist to be defended by feminist who would be less likely to do so if they understood our criticisms are not of gender equality but of bigotry. Please help me share this message.

Yup. I like to cuddle because it is great but actions speak louder than words so no conversation will explain it is just a fling.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
