This was like in 2008. We were in our late teens/early twenties. There was no excuse. Well, maybe apart from him being Greek. I haven't met many Greek men so I don't know.

I was on like a third date with this guy at this hole in the wall diner that served AMAZING food and they had like a tv in the corner that was playing Land Before Time for some reason. I motioned to it and said, "I always feel bad about this show because of how it's gotta end" (meaning the meteor). And he replied, "Yeah I don't like it either because it's not real". I was like, "Oh you mean you don't like the cartoon format?". And he goes, "No because dinosaurs aren't real. Their bones were plan…

I clearly emit a high pitched whistle that attracts dogs and weirdos.

I went out on a date with a guy who ordered us drinks before I even said hi, and then he said, "I haven't drank in three months because I usually fall into a self destructive depressive spiral, but I feel good about tonight". UMMMMMMM WHAT.

I bought my own bidet and installed it. NO ONE TREATS MY BUTT BETTER THAN ME.

I find the ones in Russia to be more egotistical and patriarchal BUT when I couldn't go out because I had to shell peas for my grandma one summer, two Russian boys came by and shelled my peas for me and told me to get ready so that was sweet.

What about when he isn't home? What about if he needs to do that at work? Or out with friends at a restaurant? WHAT THEN?!

EXACTLY. And if he can't do the minimum of treating his ass right, he's certainly not going to take care of yours.

I'm not particularly religious but when you get to the point of developing CORKBOARD FETISHES, just go to church. Go to church and reflect on your sins.

Oh my gosh WHAT DOES THAT MEAN. I absolutely would have backed away silently and then ran for freedom but ooooooh that's going to keep me up at night.

Another date I went on had toilet paper that was so thin and came in a roll so large that he must have stolen it from a public library. I also had to put my hand in the tank to flush it, only to find he didn't have any hand soap or hand towels. This was obviously all before I found FDS.

The worst part is when I asked for toilet paper (since I noticed it was empty before going into the bathroom) he looked at me blankly and first offered me tissue paper. Like the kind you put in gift bags. It was glittery. And when I stared at him open mouthed, he offered construction paper. When I asked if he had run out, that's when he informed me he didn't use toilet paper. I noped out of there SO FAST that my friends actually are slightly upset I didn't stay to find out what the hell he did w…

My mid twenties were a wild time. I successfully moonwalked away from all these "opportunities".

I have three main ones: 1- must own and USE toilet paper and it must be 2ply or more. (I got offered construction paper one time because the guy, and I quote, "didn't use toilet paper" and no he didn't have a bidet) 2- must own more than just one cup/plate/pillow. (I asked for a glass of water and got it offered in a used wonton soup container) 3- must believe in evolution. (A conversation about the show Land Before Time REALLY took a turn).

Oh oh what about the guys that are like, "If you hate all men why are you with me? If I do this think you hate and tell me to stop but I don't, why do you even love me?!" MANIPULATIVE.

Well, I was cleaning out my bathroom exhaust vent yesterday and I slipped and completely shattered the footstool I was standing on. Like I was a pro wrestler coming down on it. HOME IMPROVEMENT IS GANGSTA.

In the end it's about what makes you feel good. I have this beautiful poster up that says "Comparison Will Kill You" and it helps me a lot. It's easy to break bad habits when you realize you derive no pleasure from them. I've always been one to completely cut off ex bfs once we break up. After some time with some of them I've developed light friendships but that's never my priority nor do I seek it.

Yeah I was just talking to my friends about how so many men are trash/lvm that the ones that are even just slightly better seem to be amazing. He's apologized and everything but yeah, he's def not my long-term guy.

I just remind myself of how shitty I feel EVERY TIME I used to do this, and that alone has completely broken my habit.

Hoooooly shit this thread has opened my eyes. My ex would pull the "You're not listening!" Card and repeat all of his arguments every single time I disagreed with him. I broke up with him but we stayed friends because he seemed to be getting his anger under control. I let him move in with me when it looked like he was going to be evicted and made him pay only like $200 bucks a month... He lost/quit his job and stopped paying that, went and bought $200 worth of weed for "medical reasons" when the…

I got second degree burns on my leg three months into dating my bf. He drove me to the hospital and back... And then left to visit his grandma even though I was scared and asked him to stay. She's not sick or anything, he just visits her a lot. We're still dating and taking it "day by day" but I won't lie, it's been hard to get over that. My mother says she'll never forgive him for leaving me, and not that I take much stock in what she says but it does give me pause. Going back to dating just se…
