That's how our world is, and it's how it's been since the dawn of civilization. The time of the Romans, Greeks, Egyptians, and Aztecs were all the same. You don't like how our world is? Then either stay single your whole life or go les. You aren't the world changer you think you are. If our society hasn't changed for over 4000 years, it's not gonna change in the next 200 just because people like you bitch and whine online.

Why do women have to be doormats? Where did I say women have to be "doormats?" Why is assertive automatically a male trait? I'll ask a question to your question. Why is peeing sitting down "automatically" seen as something women do? What if I'm a male and I pee sitting down? And why is a woman who dislikes artificial femininity somehow automatically masculine? She's not... And why can’t women be assertive if they’re in relationships with males? Same reason men can't stay home 24/7 and be a bum p…

pretend to be someone we’re not Hold up..... so then what are you? Masculine and assertive? If you are masculine and assertive, being in a relationship with a male might not be for you.

What exactly are you "pretending"?

BOTH men and women should be willing to change for each other. If either gender refuses to change (to an extent), than that's a red flag. But to your original title, hell yes.

This isn't just about rational vs. irrational. There's evolutionary reason behind it. Men can literally have sex with multiple women in a given time while women can't. Once a woman is pregnant, even if she wanted to AND had a person willing to have sex with her, she can't. Not to mention once the baby comes out, the woman will be busy breastfeeding the baby while the father can be who knows where. I'm talking in the 5th century for example. Times have changed to the point of women being privileg…

benefits are few and not worth it If there are some benefits (temporary pleasure I'm assuming), why would it be not worth it?

I'd argue otherwise. Marriage actually BENEFITS women. If there was no such thing as a monogamous marriage, women would never have a unique lover. We speak in terms of evolution, women seek the strongest, men seek to be the strongest. That's why historically it was the kings, pharaoh's and rulers who had hoards of women. They were the ones who were the most desired. You're telling me each of the 100 wives were equally loved by the king? Not a chance. By having a monogamous marriage that focuses …

Monogamy was invented by men I mean I guess I COULD believe that but.... source? and primarily benefits men. How so?

Sure. If in his eyes, you had intercourse with another person, it's fair game to do the same. But you still never answered my question lmao. Unmarried women will ALWAYS have a higher sex drive than her "partner." Once you get married, things will change :)

So.... you didn't answer my question. I can answer all your "hypotheticals" but again.. when you say "partner" are you married?

what is apples and oranges? You didn’t specify. most men and women have an instinctual sex drive. So these are lumped together. When you say, "most men and women have an instinctual sex drive" sure. Both males and females have an urge to procreate that's biological. "Apples and oranges" = if males were apples, they GENERALLY have a higher sex drive than females (oranges). When you say "partner" are you married?

See this is the thing, biologically you're trying to compare apples to oranges. Males have a biological sex drive and if the wife isn't doing her part to full her husband's needs, he has every right to seek it elsewhere. If she has a desire for sex and he refuses her, by all means, she should have a right to seek it else where.

My question is though, is it really considered an "affair"? Like, both parties know it's nothing but an 'fwb" kind of relationship and nothing else.

Seems like you literally read the first point and came to your conclusion. I was initially think this is a pretty sexist shit post, but after actually reading through all the points, and esp that link to the magazines, I'm starting to change my mind.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
